I actually used up a quarter tank today driving the G around (before it started raining). I've been doing drive-by's on potential next house listings. Some are a few miles down the road, and the one this morning was like 20 miles from where we live.
Anyway, car is a freaking beast and a joy to drive. And I live on Zillow, LOL.
I know that once you get an idea you chew on it for a long time, research it from every direction, box in the expenses, reach out for info from companies, etc. And it seems you're doing that again right now. So I'm going to recommend you start a thread while you're at the beginning of things, and chronical the progress as it happens. I've done that a few times over the years, and the thread became not just a whiteboard for ideas and advice, but an actual part of the hobby process itself. Without psychoanalyzing it too much, it's enough to say that approach can be rewarding.
Then again... thread participation is a fraction of what it was like 10 years ago (sigh). IDK, just throwing that out there.
I typically discuss and get opinions, then create a thread once I'm done. I have about a dozen of these detailed threads that I had planned to link as a "Build Thread" at some point.
The journey is always far more rewarding than the destination to me personally. The people I meet, knowledge obtained and the sense of investment in growing my own knowledge on a topic. I see people all the time on Reddit that just want to buy a car, dump 10K into and be done like there is a finish line. Guess we are all wired a little differently.

I empathize. I spent the entire week on work travel and am looking forward to my drive to work on Tuesday. Since the tune, it feels like there is literaly not a large enough freeway (or one with far fewer people) to open the car up on.
New exhaust combined with AFR, Knock Sensor Sensitivity, Torque curve management and timing changes make the car feel like a breath of emissions friendly fresh air.
Do you guys have any thoughts on tasteful OEM+ methods to upgrade the texture/color of the plastic around the vents/HU display?I feel that it's the one thing in the interior that has not aged well. I’m familiar with the eBay vendors selling CF looking replacements, but I’m looking for something that looks more OEM. The trim actually looks worse in person than it does in the thread below.

Haven't seen much out there other than the same style fake carbon fiber I covered my aging fake wood with. Other than that seen some custom carbon stuff and seen some 3D printed stuff, but nothing that was out on the general market.
I'm feeling the gloss black. I know the new Z uses alot of gloss black and people complain that it smudges and scratches easily. Definitely looks more upscale than the old school textured black plastic.

Is "BY" an Ebay vendor?
AliExpress. Just screenshotted the first listing I saw, there are lots of them. Searched for g37 screen bezel.

Man is it easy to go through a quarter tank in non highway driving. The G is a gas hog. I do t recall the mileage I used to get with my G35, but it was a good bit better than the 37. The 37 is right on par with my FX50 around the town - not sure how that can be.
