Well, poo. Looks like R2C has gone out of business - site down, and reports from around last fall that they shuttered for good.
What's a good dry filter substitute for their Black Hex series? All my other experience is with K&N oiled filters.
Finally got the nose off, putting together the 2.75 intake to match my AFM housings, and... their intended filters (from my 2.5 OD setup) will in no way fit.

I remember someone here went through a big effort to replace his R2C filters, and I took note of the model: AEM Filters 21-201D-HK

I did some research, compared pipe sizes, did some maths... I'll add my notes when I get home, but short version is that going from 2.5ID to 2.75ID is about a 21% increase in area, so I found a nifty "surface area for truncated cones" calculator, plugged in the R2C, and then looked for an AEM dry filter that had at least 21% more surface area than the R2C. Ended up with AEM 21-2029BK - which might be overkill, but :shrug:. Filters and new filter socks on the way.
Very close. British short hair. The breed was brought back using Russian Blues and Persians, so you're not far off. I had an orange Persian for 16 years, old guy lived a good life. Finally time to bring another animal into the household.

I'm aware that cubic inches of filter does not equal surface area, nor flow, but it's a close substitute that can be benchmarked across styles and brands to give a reference point (at least, until someone wants to do CFM testing with these).
Also, as a quick reminder, I upsized from 2.5ID to 2.75 to match the nifty aluminum AFM housings with air straighteners.

Have you considered the velocity stacks from Z1? If you want to max air flow, their filters help create a vortex that increase air flow speed. Kind of like if you empty a bottle and give it a twist to make a whirlpool inside and empty faster.

IMHO Velocity stacks before 2 bends, an airflow meter vane projecting into the stream, and then into another bend before entering the plenum... sounds like snake oil.
I know velocity stacks work (or F1 wouldn't use them) but usually in conjunction with individual throttle bodies and short straight runs from filter/mouth to valve head. In fact, the individual runners from plenum to the intake manifold are molded with a slight V stack opening - and that is where I'd expect to see one.

I just read where the new Mustang has a "remote rev" feature on the key fob.
That's like the coolest thing that I would never use. Then again, have you ever seen demo modes on complicated, custom headlights? Same thing, I guess. So... awesome feature for a car meet.
Then again, do you think it's only available for the automatic? If so, not sure how cool it is to growl out to the world that your Mustang doesn't have a clutch.
