My point was that the trim panels I have, it is a metal skin on a plastic backing. You can see the tabs where it is bent around - I'll try to get a picture. I was wondering if the metal skin was ferrous, then I could *actually* case harden it (off the plastic of course). OTOH - that's a heck of a lot of work for minimal appearance gain.

Seem like I found the closest match to the OEM wheel color. It's Chrome by rustoleum, with the right technique and patience results can look even better.

Once It dries I'll go over it to "fill" the flakes then clean off the excess.

This is still one project I didn't get to this year. Metallic graphite wheel paint is just sitting there waiting to be applied to my 20s, but I never seem to get around to them.

Ya I have same wheels and bought them with some pretty rash. I sanded and spot painted with Ford Silver, and it's definitely different. From 10 ft its not really noticeable, but I will probably mask off and paint whole wheel at some point.

Same here from afar is not noticeable. I'm pretty sure with some trial/error we will find an option that blends well enough. The OEM wheel appears to be a 2 or 3 stage color, black is the base and either silver and clear follows or silver then pearl then clear.
I suspect that if you approach the rash with black first then follow it with silver it will match better.

Anyone have their front wheels off for a time? I'd like to see if someone could wiggle the front upper control arm bushings fore and aft so I could compare how loose mine are.

Vids of mine are here:https://photos.app.goo.gl/xSFR9mVoMex732Js6 and https://photos.app.goo.gl/hg9iBNa3LCrZnj2o7

Your upper control arm is fine.
It isn't loose, it's the normal rubber bushing deflection.

So... any advance black friday/cyber monday sale prices? Z1 has a page up here but I'm not sure if that's for this year. 10% on most things that are discounted...

That looks like an old link. Once I click on a product it goes back to the regular price. Z1 is already posting up on Instagram about it and they usually have some good deals. Stillen and Concept Z usually do sales as well for Black Friday.

Drive my car today for the first time since Thanksgiving.

Have to say, I really enjoyed it... snow tires notwithstanding.

Those are those neat spiky things on the motorcycle tires in "For Your Eyes Only".
