My wife's Honda CR-V uses a CR 1616, so I'm probably going to buy a two-pack of each battery type. Her's are 8 years old, and noticeably weak. Weird that I never did anything about this until my G started having an issue.

Regarding batteries, I found this info on Z1's website.
So, CR2025 vs CR2032... doesn't really matter, as long as the thicker model fits, which apparently it does.

Regarding batteries, I found this info on Z1's website.
Most coin sized batteries use similar size / part number designations as these: 2032 indicates the size of the battery, 20 means they are 20mm in diameter and 32 means it is 3.2mm thick. You will notice the batteries Nissan used from the factory were 2025 which, using the designation noted above, means they are 20mm in diameter and 2.5mm thick. These CR2032 batteries are of course .7mm thicker which we have found acceptable in all of the Key Fobs we have used. For us to consider these an upgrade they must come with an advantage right? The added thickness allows the battery to hold approximately 25% more power which means these batteries should last 25% longer under the same load.
Ever notice how a Z1 Motorsports URL changes the thread title through the onblur() event?

They Rick-rolled themselves. Wow.

Infiniti G37 Coupe 18" OEM Wheels + Summer Tires
Are these off the Q60? At first I was thinking they were the coupe 19s, but they're 18s, so I don't think I've seen these much.
Thoughts on throwing these on my sedan?

Over the last couple months, there have been a number of moments where I go to start my car, and I get no response. Just a dead plastic button. I freeze, and think to myself, "Did that just happen?" So I press the ignition button again, and it's all good; car starts right up. It's been happening enough now for me to think there's a pattern, and to expect it. Still, it only happens a few times a week.
So... is this symptomatic of a dying fob battery? How long do these things last? Mine is easily 6 years old.
Yesterday I started on a little test, and from that point on I'll be inserting the fob into its dashboard slot below the trunk release switch, instead of keeping it in my pocket. Figure to do that for a while and see if this happens again. I need to go research what it means to use that slot. I never have before.

You should get a Low Battery warning if your key fob is low and if your key fob is dead you will get a No Key warning because it won't see the key at all. I'm amazed that your key fob batteries have lasted this long. I think my originals lasted about 2 years. I bought a 10 pack from Amazon years ago and have gone through 6 of them, so 2 years of life per battery per fob seems to be about the norm for me.
Incidentally, I believe that the dashboard slot if just a key fob holder and has no other purpose than to give you a place to keep the fob if you don't like to keep it in your pocket. I know the valets like to use my slot... oh damn, that didn't come out right at all. LOL
Would be really cool if they were to design the key fob slot to use inductive charging when your fob is inserted in the slot while driving... really surprised no one's done this yet.
Get the CR2032's instead. They will fit and will give you a few more mAh. If you have Amazon Prime... $6.65 for 15 with free shipping or around $5 for 10 as an add on item.

I've been using the slot for a number of days now, and haven't experienced the problem again yet. I don't believe it's just a key for caddy... have to check the owners manual, though. Er... just did, and not sure what to think. I suppose the real way to check this is to remove the battery, stick the fob in the caddy, and see what happens. I believe the car will start just fine. The manual says if the battery is discharged, insert the fob in the Intelligent Key Port to start the car, so... there's that.
Anyway, batteries arrived tonight, and you're right... should have gone with the 2032 because that's exactly what was in the fob. However the 2025 is in there now, and it works fine. Lately I had to get within 20 feet before the fob would lock/unlock the car, and now I can be far away... further away than I've bothered to test.
Was a low battery the cause for the problem? Maybe. Time will tell. Five+ years is a long time for an original battery, that's true.
Funny thing is, now I kind of like using the fob slot. LOL

The slot allows you to start the car even if your key battery is totally dead. It's not just a holder.
Also if the proximity system for some reason dies or stops working that'll be the ONLY way you can start your car as far as i know.

I've got it, might as well use it.
