Hopefully you can get a deal done, assuming everything else checks out.

If you're doing the mod for power, don't waste your time. Problem with short airs is that they suck from inside the engine bay. Higher intake temps and you'll lose power. No if and or butts. But it won't slow you down that much if you just want the sound!

Pretty sure you should get better results with this mod in the mid to upper RPMs with the bigger open filters. Interested to hear your feed back on them when you get more seat time. Especially from a dead stop. Thanks again....
So after some spirited driving, and some mind numbing highway rush hour traffic, I can finally share my opinion.

At about 4000 rpm + the sound can only be described as:

From a complete stop, it seems to have a tiny bit of a delay getting going (augmented by my 20" wheels which already slow down the acceleration)

In manual mode, thats out the window, you get to the higher rpm's faster and there is a feeling of a tiny bit of a power increase. (could be placebo from the sound)

Im not tracking this car, and the sound increase alone is amazing. The worries about it sucking air from under the hood arent there for me, heat shields have ben tweaked to create more of an airbox around the filters, and the holes where the air coms in have been widened, allowing for more airflow. This was an incredible bargain, so its now like I broke the bank anyways lol.

There's some other mods i have my eye set on, like getting my sway bars installed this weekend, finally, so i was just very curious about the SRI. Thanks guys.

Speaking of heat soak earlier, i ran a 9 inch long K&N cone filter on my Mustang before i got the Paxton installed. Not my Mustang in the pic but very similar air intake set up. You think this got any heat soak lol....

I have the Injen SRIs which reuse the factory plastic runners, and the heat "shields" seem to be setup about as good as you could do in our bay. I haven't noticed any degradation as the temps go up. I think retaining the plastic intake tubes may play a part in that since they don't get blistering hot like the metal tube setups. And like others have mentioned, that sound at 3500 rpm opened up is addicting.
I wouldn't put it on top of the must have mod list but it is something that's a worthwhile addition IMO.

There are 3 Infiniti's that park in my parking garage (always the same spot). One of which was a G35S sedan. Looks like he finally traded it in on a Q50. I'll try and be sneaky and snap a pic. I just thought it was funny.

Good luck on the hunt Sacs! Hopefully you don't have the same luck that my friend Kevin did in searching for a 6MT sedan. He looked for 6 months before he found his 2011.

In other news, the ROM came back from UPRev so I'll be going back on Tuesday to get my tune.

@Legomaniac

Question: Have you experienced any leaking from the top of your Koni Yellows when adjusting them? Reason I ask is that I turned the adjustment the other day and it leaked a little bit of oil from the top screw. Also noticed that they were a little bit dirty, like when there's a tiny bit of oil on something in the engine bay and it attracts all the dirt and dust.

I'm not sure how serious of an issue it is, or if it justifies a warranty replacement. The oil that was there before I adjusted them looked to be only a trace amount. A quick Google search indicated that I'm not the only one that has experienced this, but it seems to me that it shouldn't leak.

Thanks for your input!

Are you talking about the fronts?

I haven't noticed anything leaking out on the fronts, but I also haven't adjusted them in over a year.

I've only adjusted the rears once and didn't see anything leaking, but it would have been virtually impossible to see since I didn't remove them.

I had a rear wheel off the other day--nail in the tire--and actually inspected for leaks and couldn't find anything. A little grime, but nothing to indicate the shock body was leaking. That's only one side though.

I'd call Koni if you think they're leaking. Lifetime warranty

If you're not familiar with the dragons tale, it's a road up on the northern border of NC that has 320 turns within an 11 mile stretch. And these aren't baby turns. They're banked, short, and sharp. There's an event going on called Zdayz which is huge. I planned to take my Sedan but now my friend that owns soho Motorsports asked me to drive he's single turbo 350z up there. He helps me out a good bit and they're good people so im not going to say no. But, idk whether I should be happy or bummed. The poker run and dragon run would be more fun in a manual turbo Z making over 400hp from 3200-7500 but I might miss my car once I get there. Decisions decisions. Here's a pic just because.

The 350z

My sedan

Which one should I choose? Haha

Oh, yes, what an amazing road that is. Although it was called Tail of the Dragon back in the day when I used to drive it... and also Deals Gap. Back in the mid-1990's when I lived in Cincinnati and was part of the DSM community with my '90 Eclipse GSX we used to make an annual trip down to the TN/NC border to drive these roads. I can tell you that if you go on a weekend there are going to be so many motorcycles and other cars driving there that it's going to be difficult to find any open road (there are many deaths to motorcycle drivers on this road for this reason). We found the best time to drive that road is early AM on a weekday.

Incidentally, as amazing as I'm sure that turbo 350Z is, my vote is for you to take your sedan. You will be really disappointed once you get down there and your not in your own car... you'll really miss her.

New exhaust should be here in a month, and OSRAM CBI headlight bulbs in 2 days. Exciting times.

Awesome work Andy! Glad the intake worked out for you. Looks great in your engine bay. So how are you enjoying that new intake sound? I really miss this intake. My car definitely had a much more visceral feeling with the nice throaty intake sound that this K&N Typhoon creates. I just don't get that same feeling/noise with my GTM Super Charger.. It's just a quiet wooosshhh sound now and is almost boring.

Need your opinion on something guys..I heard a loud metal clanking noise at high speeds. It lasted for 6 seconds and went away. It kept doing it randomly.

Pulled C1109 BATTERY VOLTAGE ABNORMAL
P1550 BATTERY CURRENT SENSOR - NO SIGNAL

It seems like my ABS modules is getting lower than expected power. Why would I be hearing a loud clank? It's pouring, haven't gotten a chance to take a look at the ABS assembly.
