I had a set of FI HFCs that came apart. When I spoke to Kevin at FI he told me it would be $175 plus shipping to repair. I bought them collapsed already so not exactly sure what caused it although kevin told me the other time he had seen it was after the exhaust was hit in the rear and the vibration might've caused the honeycomb to disconnect from the weld.

Time for some good 'ol rants by Zahy.

Decided to cancel my order with VirtueMotorsports for my TopSpeed Pro exhaust with beveled tips. They offered to ship me a TopSpeed with straight-cut tips but I didn't want to bother. The money I'd be spending on new tips can just go towards a different exhaust system. I couldn't deal with another delay, especially after TopSpeed said the next shipment is expected to arrive at the END OF FEBRUARY

I'm pretty disappointed, but at the same time, I can start looking for another exhaust system. Maybe something of better quality? The FI CBE is beautiful, but $1,600 and a 3 month wait doesn't cut it for me. The Stillen is very appealing as well, if I can purchase the one of the Classifieds for $600 that would be awesome, or if I'm in the mood to shell out $1200 for a brand new one, that's another option.

The Tanabe axle-back paired with some HFC is another option. From what I've read, the Tanabe system on it's own sounds similar to stock.

Hope everyone on the east coast is staying safe & warm during this storm!

Zahy - Good for you. When you're spending $$$ you're endorsing a business. If you are unhappy with any business, don't endorse them.

On the other thing, IMO, if you can get a combo with HFCs that would be the way to go. The HFCs will have a bigger impact on your performance and sound than just a CBE alone. If you go with the Tanabe AB and HFCs it's a win. Great looks, good gain and a meaty roar.

But you don't have to stay with that set-up. You could, within whatever budget you have, put together a unique hybrid combo. Blnewt has a good one made up of a number of different manufacturers that is unique and personal and achieves his goals.

I think I've settled on the Tanabe + HFC. Whether I'll go with Z1 HFC or Berk's is another thing.

Getting quotes from dealers for extended warranty from Infiniti. Courtney was extremely quick to reply and let me know that prices and terms change at 6 months / 6,000 miles. She offers discounts if you buy it before the end of the month. Still waiting to hear back from her how much exactly is the discount and the additional discount for paying upfront versus 0% financing for 18 months without any credit inquiries. Also waiting to hear back from Circle Infiniti and one more dealer. I am thinking of going with 96 month / 100,000 miles. She did mention Infiniti updates prices every February and they go up slightly. I am thinking I want to wait 4.5 months and then get it to get some extra mileage and time.

Based off your current mileage these are your options for extending your factory coverage...
New Q40 w/ 1020 miles
$100 Ded
72mo/82k=$1219
84mo/100k=$1619
96mo/100k=$1699
84mo/120=$1779
96mo120k=$1959

Additional Discount if purchased before end of month!!!
***No sales tax!!! Internet pricing not available to FL residents***
YES this is the factory warranty and NOT 3rd party!! The Infiniti Elite Protection Plan will start the day you purchase it and the mileage allowance will be added to what is currently on your odometer. The deductible is per visit not per item repaired. The car must be under the original warranty. Please let me know if you have any questions regarding the Infiniti Elite Protection Plan. Thanks again and have a great day.

This is awesome, thank you for actually sharing this, I'm at 48k and I want to extend my warranty and have been wanting to go to Circle infiniti in person and talk to someone there about it all, considering I got 48k on it now, I'm guessing it'll definitely rip me a new one...

Given the Jonas blizzard we have going on over here in the north east, having over 2 ft of snow , well, that may have to happen maybe next weekend and I finally gotta go to that dealer and talk to someone there about it, as I've heard good things about getting the extended warranty from them as well as the fact that it's the #1 rated Infiniti dealership in NJ, which is why I always go there for service and have received great service up to date.

Anyone in particular I should speak to over there IF you happen to know?

I've put ~7,000 miles on my car since I bought it in September 2015. Different driving habits, but kinda funny nonetheless.

I haven't driven my car since Thursday. Ice + PSS arent a combination I want to try. Supposed to be 45* and sunny today, so hopefully the ice melts.

Smart man.

One of the many things I hate about snow tires is how they break traction at Full throttle in second gear as easilby as first, and how full throttle in third gear at highway speeds means Traction control starts flashing at you... even on dry pavement.

Driving in the Winter with this car means you really have to baby it. (Sigh)

Been trolling through Z1's website this morning. Those Z1 motor mounts look really appealing.
