Are you breaking 3/8" or 1/2" drive extensions?

Pretty impressive. I could imagine a 3/8 or 1/2 to 3/8 breaking, but not a 1/2"

What brand extensions are you guys using that broke? I used snap-on, pittsburgh and craftsman to take the demon bolt out. Both 3/8 craftsman broke.

Yeah, I broke a US made Craftsman 1/2" extension the first time I pulled my cats off. Ended up having to switch to 3/4" drive and a 3/4" IR impact gun to get the job done. That set-up snapped the bolts right off! I've since replaced all the hardware with SST hardware and can now take the cats on and off with simple hand tools.

Yes, I agree 100%. I worked from home about 7 or 8 years before my business outgrew my home office and garage. I've since been in a 2,000 ft² office located about 2 miles from my house. Although it's nice to have a warehouse to keep my truck and extra parts storage it's still a hassle to get up early every day to actually get dressed for work. LOL. Plus even my 2 mile commute can take close to 45 minutes because of a major construction project they're doing on the 91 freeway right now (which I have to cross under to get to my office). They are also talking about actually shutting down the 91 freeway (all 10 to 12 lanes of) for a week in February, which would create Carmageddon in my neighborhood. So I may just have to start working from home again, at least until that portion of the construction is done.

Maybe in the spring when it gets warm out i'll drill out the snapped bolt and tap a new thread.

Eek! Look at all that undercarriage corrosion. I really don't miss the snow (sand and salt included) one bit... Thanks to the SoCal weather, my car still looks relatively new underneath and it's almost 8 years old.

Since you live in sunny SoCal, you could always ride a bicycle to work. Leave a few suits in your office and you're all ready to go. Even if you ride at a leisurely pace, it should take you no more than 15min...and plus your legs will probably get more swole

Yep!!! Everything is fine and dandy indeed until you get to the third bolt on, which I stripped the heads actually, a head on just one side... Few hours turned into running out of time because it was late and had to finish it the next day after work. Lol I'll never do my cats myself again on this car even more so without a lift

On the other thing, IMO, if you can get a combo with HFCs that would be the way to go. The HFCs will have a bigger impact on your performance and sound than just a CBE alone. If you go with the Tanabe AB and HFCs it's a win. Great looks, good gain and a meaty roar.

But you don't have to stay with that set-up. You could, within whatever budget you have, put together a unique hybrid combo. Blnewt has a good one made up of a number of different manufacturers that is unique and personal and achieves his goals.

BTW: The snow just crested the top of my wheeled trash tote.

Custom exhaust set-up are fun, but it does take a lot of trial and error to get just the right combination of components. I actually have a Frankenstein exhaust sitting in my warehouse if someone local is looking for a good deal on a sedan exhaust. It made of an Invidia Gemini front X-Pipe and resonated mid-pipe, along with Tanabe axle back mufflers and custom 2"5 tubing from the Invidia mid-pipe to the muffler section.

I have a low mileage set of Berk HFC's that I'd like to get out of my warehouse. They are fully in-tact, have the OEM style brackets on them, have never tripped a CEL and still look good. I just got tired of having to constantly swap back to my OEM cats for emissions, so I finally just left the OEM ones installed. Send me a PM if your interested and I can send you some pics.

I actually have two really nice bikes (both hard tail and soft tail) and have ridden to work in the past. However with all the construction and traffic the way it is right now there are no bike lanes on my route and it's almost suicide trying to get through there at rush hour. In addition, the majority of my job involves leaving the office to meet with customers, so I actually need to have a car available to make sales calls in. I've actually started leaving my truck in the warehouse at the office just for this, but my wife also works for my company so we typically "commute" together.

I installed my new shift boot today. Replaced the OEM vinyl, flat, 3-panel boot with a perforated leather, 4-panel boot from Redline Goods. The OEM boot is that dark tan color used for the boot and the armrest lid cover. The new boot is Charcoal, and I'm liking that color much better. Certainly the 4-panel design works with the shifter console better, and the perforated leather... well, that's superior to vinyl in every way.

Are you saying I won't pass emissions with HFC?

The tailpipe test will pass but if they do a visual depending on how picky they are, it may fail.
