I can see how the -3 would affect the wear. It doesn't much matter if the tire has a treadwear of 600...you'll still see very premature wear with high negative camber. Many moons ago in my Discount Tire days, I'd have BMW M3's come in and they'd wear through the rear tires very very quickly. BMW's of that era were notorious for running a lot of negative camber stock from the factory on the rear tires. I guess when they call it the ultimate driving machine, it comes with an expense because it was known as the ultimate tire chewing machine. Look at the picture of this stock X5 and you can see just how much they run. Matter of fact, next time you roll up on an X5 M with the giant gumball tires in back, you'll see the same thing.



Did you do the camber and the toe bolt? -1.7 should help out a lot. You've almost added 50% more camber so hopefully that will do the trick. If I recall correctly, stock camber is between -1.1 and -1.4 so you're barely outside that range.

My suspension is at stock height and when I went to 19's with the 275 rear tires, I got more inner wear than I did with the stock tires.

That is a CRAZY pic and now thanks to you ill be looking at alot of beamers this way. I do have to say...and as expected....but now my car feels a hell of alot more planted then before. Def harder to break the rear loose

 

Hahaha. Thanks for making it sound like I'm a creeper, MaQ. I've been studying this forum with G35driver for days since I finally pulled the trigger on a G. Voyeur more than creeper.

The clutch pedal mod is high on my list. I'm on the fence, but barely. I just need a little tap, and I'll order it.

 

Assuming the RJM Pedal is a keeper (safe assumption), you're welcome to have my jsolo return spring. I'd be happy to pay it forward, nelledge.

Sorry I am like a week late, but I think that is a bad choice in wheels because you will have to modify the rear and/or stretch with negative camber to fit. Then your rear would be so far poked that you would need a 15-25mm spacer to match the look in the front.

Fender can be pulled, the hard part is being able to keep the bend line smooth and visible from the side - I had to have my body shop do this for me.

So to sum out... the G's rear fender can be pulled, but only looks good after body work.

 

^ Perhaps if they are pulled by a professional/someone who has a lot of experience pulling fenders then they might look decent. But since I knew the car was going to the body shop for the kit to be installed I pulled them myself just to have the experience. The fenders definitely looked like bacon from the side when I was done!

 

Yeah I have kind of noticed that over the years. Most bimmers usually have more negative camber in the rear than compared to the front. The idea is that when cornering, the tire camber angle gets more perpendicular to the road surface to maintain more contact with the road. But I'm not usually cornering that hard so for me, it wouldn't help much.

I'm glad to hear that you've got it sorted out now and it's definitely a good feeling to have the car feeling planted.

 

My car got a lot of love today.

With a 2 and 4 year old I don't get a lot of time to mess around with my car. But I had today off for the holiday--instead of last Friday--, and while my wife had the day off too, she opted to work her new job most of the day (way to double dip baby!!), so I had time, with no kids, to mess around with my car.

Changed the oil--Red Line 5W30, Purolator PureOne filter

Washed the car, then spray waxed her

Vacuumed out the interior and wiped everything down. Cleaned and conditioned the front seats

Finally installed the happy buy it now extreme roof spoiler

I got a bunch of other stuff done today too. Winning

 

Orly? Where's the proof... I need proof.

I instead chose to take an hour long walk through the neighborhood and interconnecting trails

 

Ok guys I need your help cause my brain is absolutely fried at this point. I am looking into a new set up and most likely my last one (promise) I got some changes for the G to include an Air set up as well so that's why I m looking for a more aggressive set up.

My current set up is 19x9.5 +25 245/40 all around
