Funny how that works. My 5.5 barely burned oil, but my G is a fkn pig.

**EDIT: sorry guys...I originally listed the ***** in my post as 'aluminum'...I read thru the original thread from the M forum and the ***** are 'silver'.... LOL....my bad.

I just finished test fitting a set of aluminum radio/AC *****... someone on an M forum install them in his car a year or so ago, and I found his post a few weeks back so I decided to give them a try. measurements given on the other post were 21mm x 17mm. $5.00 for a set of 4…..not bad!

I went with the ‘high gloss’ aluminum ***** with “pointer” - just a little notch on the face of the ****. They are also contoured on the sides for grip - not sure how to describe but you can see from the pictures below

Install was straight forward - I did turn the radio/AC on so I could calibrate the pointers accordingly. Here are some pix.

Wow, much cheaper than carsmo (always felt they were priced a little too high) so I'm willing to give this a shot. Link?

btw, I did email the eBay seller and received a timely response. The product comes shipped from China however, the total delivery time was 10 days from placing the order. I was surprised to find out the M and G radio ***** were the same size. I just sent an email to the seller requesting if they have the same ***** without the pointer - will update once they respond...

i had the carsmo ***** by the way. issue i had with those is that when the weather got a bit cold, and not even that cold because im in az, the ***** wouldn't turn the connected piece anymore. they would just freely turn like they didn't fit. Soon as it would warm up they would be fine again. Annoying and an too expensive to deal with a problem like that.

So i put back on the black rubber ones.

Willing to try these, curious if they will have the same issue or not.

Yeah they just pull off Vivid. Little elbow grease or something to grip them with is a good idea. Just wrap it with a piece of cloth or something if you grip them with something so you dont damage em.

While I've not experienced that problem, I've read that very same complaint a number of times. The adhesive Carsmo is using appears to be a problem. Why not just remove and re-glue the core?

These alternative ***** look good, but kind of a busy design, IMO. And the little pointer etched into the top is pointless on the radio, because the steering wheel controls invalidate the position. That would drive me nuts. But options are nice, particularly less expensive ones.

I wish Carsmo would make his ***** in titanium. I'd replace mine in a heartbeat.

^^^ initially I tried to pull them off with my fingers, but I couldn't get a good grip - I didn't want to risk using too much force. So I used my small plumbing pliers and they came off easy.

What do you suggest i pick up to reglue the core? Just put a dab in there and apply them?

I don't have any special knowledge of various adhesives. You should do some research outside the forum on what best works with plastic against... is it aluminum or SS?

Also, I would respectfully ask Carsmo for advice. If he's on top of this and stands behind his product, then he's probably already addressed the problem with a new adhesive.

Lastly... modding a car with aftermarket parts, *any* aftermarket parts, is a lesson in patience and compromise. G'luck.

I'm on the same boat but I'm just glad they fit, so now I can look for other **** styles (aluminum, titanium, gloss black, etc)... I thought I had a link to a manufacturer of high end *****, but can't seem to find it....will use these measurements and cross reference to those of the manufacturer's....I remember seeing a few ***** that were designed beautifully....searching still....
