6MT guys: anybody think about replacing your transmission bushing with a poly one?
I've had favorable results replacing bushings on my Legacy GT, F-Body, and Mazda 6s, and started looking into it for my G. It looks like Z1 motorsports makes one

Install doesn't look that bad for the trans mount, but the motor mounts look like a bitc*. I'd start with the transmission mount first, I went a little too all in with poly bushings on my LGT
Thoughts?

Just let me know, David does some amazing work. I'll have a spare room again soon and we can take my SBR out for a run while you're car is "under the knife"
In the engine, the side mounts are the ones that take the abuse, so I'd think you'd have more impact (no pun) going after them first. Wouldn't you agree?
I replaced the OEM engine bushings with ES product in my old Maxima. Best mod ever, as long as you're cool with all the added NVH.
Excellent. You'll probably have your new one shipped and installed before I get mine on the car.

Let me know when you're ready to go air and I'll get you all squared away. When you're in VA, I can help install or have my tech do it. He did my install on my Jetta a few years ago.
From the 370 review I linked:
Review: Holy mamma, why didn't I have these long ago..The difference is astounding, there is some vibration at idle, it is minimal, and the only other place it is really noticeable is on a high RPM deceleration, NHV in my opinion has such a little impact, it is negelectable due to the benefits. The transmission now does NOT move at all, in fact, there is less vibration in the shifter, before I could always feel the transmission moving and flexing under acceleration, shifts are solid and more crisp even an improvement over top of the ralco short shifter. My only regret is not taking a before and after video of the engine, because it does not move now, if you open your hood, sit in your car and with the hood up look through the gap, you can see the engine cover, if you rev up the engine, one can see the motor flexing back and forth, this now does not happen at all. The best thing is the power delivery, I also have Whiteline poly diff bushings, but now I describe the power deliver as ON or OFF, when you slam the throttle down, boom, power, its hard to describe, but that is the best way I can convey how it feels.
That's pretty in-line with what I've experienced on my past cars after replacing engine and transmission mounts
I'll be replacing mine as part of the 4.083 rear gear swap, which should be this time next year... assuming I stick to my plans. I'm usually pretty good about doing that, even though it's frustrating waiting 12+ weeks for order fulfillment.
It seems like engine mount bushings would be fairly labor intensive. Would they really be worth the effort for us 7AT guys? What about the rear diff bushing?
Edit: Just checked out the DIY on 370Z for the engine mounts. Looks like it's not too bad assuming you have the right tools.
