If you look at docaam's old thread it does not seem that CS made a duplicate of AE like you say. https://www.myg37.com/forums/picture...ml#post3457769

However since both the CS lip and the AE lip are based on the Ings+1 370z lip (hence CS is called Spec IN). They could technically both be 'knockoffs'..

i am so in on that buy but 500 seems like a shot in the dark. Most people across the facebook group refuse to get decent wheels or mods and the chances of them knowing or wanting an ARC oil cap seems like a dream.

as for the lip i think i am going to Order the CS lip because like Tony said if i change my mind i m sure someone out there will want it and i can get the OEM lip any time off ebay thanks for all the input guys!

I hear you, we're at 150 right now but there's a long way to go to 500. Still waiting for price point, I'm thinking to approach a couple shops also we'll see. I agree with you about the most people not wanting to spend the $$ we'll see where it goes.

I'm late to this but I would vote CS as well. Once I get some of these other mods done I need to get back with them. Still waiting for pricing on a couple things but am also trying to see if I can get with WALD so there's no rush.

Morning folks. I thought I'd put it out there. Michael Santos has been able to establish a group buy for AutoKits V1 diffusers (Sedans) and V2 diffusers (coupes only) which he posted to the Facebook Group "Infiniti g37S", and I wanted to share with you. If he gets at least 20 people in for the group buy the diffusers will be discounted at $100 regular price on from site. The minimum amount of people required for the GB has been established.

V1 diffuser in FG Regular Price: $290, GB Price: $190
V1 diffuser in CF Regular Price: $410, GB Price: $310
Plus $45 in shipping.

You will be dealing with Autokits directly in regards to payment. They will invoice you for the initial $100 deposit to begin production and the remainder will be due in 6-8 weeks once they have been completed and are ready to be shipped.

If you are interested please let me know by EOD as he is submitting the list to them tomorrow AM. Please PM me with the following information:

Product: V1 or V2 Diffuser in FG or CF
Model: (Sedan or Coupe)
Name: First & Last
Address:
Phone number:

Thank you for that Tony. Here's a little article from 2010 for you to check out.

Matte Black Infiniti G37 by Access Evolution Looks Stunning and Mean » AutoGuide.com News

Tony, I am familiar with that build and I am a fan of that sedan. I love those Work Wheels and I'm not going to argue with anyone about this anymore. Like I had mentioned in one of my previous replies...everyone makes a copy of something. If they didn't we wouldn't have the variety of things we have available to us today. Apple would be the only company making and selling touch screen cell phones. Even things with patents get copied. So before you guys go off and spend $$$ give me a chance to go see this carbon fiber guy here locally to see what he can do. He comes highly recommended by a few local car enthusiast that have used his services.

Oh by the way, Good Morning everyone. Hope everyone had a pleasant weekend!

I watched the Sponge Bob movie with my 10yr old daughter yesterday and while I am a big Sponge Bob fan I will admit that the movie dragged on a bit and I dozed off for 10 or 15 minutes LOL

All one love man, you know I'm a fan your build too! I just wanted to point out that while CS could've made a direct copy like you assumed (I guess only CS would know), it *seems* like they may have just came up with a very similar product based off of the same inspiration.

Also agree that many imitate successful ideas and products. When I visited Japan years ago what one of the people told me still resonates in my mind to this day: "In Japan we don't copy things to just copy them, we try to make them better than the original." I think that is a better way to look at products - was the sole intention to make money off someone else's design or was it to try to improve or apply the design in a different/better manner? Case in point, Apple isn't always the first one to have certain features but they always try to make the feature integrated and easy to the user. Even though I am not an avid Apple user anymore, I still can appreciate a lot of the things they do.

I don't think I caught the part about your local CF guy - are you inquiring to make some new products with him or something?

That's a great philosophy. I'm a big proponent of "derivative design", as long as credit is applied respectfully.

Too bad that same philosophy didn't make it to China.

Thank you and I am a fan of your build as well

So for arguments sake let's say AE did copy the INGS. (both are JDM companies by the way) AE had to modify/tweak it to fit the skyline sport bumper right? Ok so CS should have tweaked theirs as well so it didn't look exactly the same as the AE one. And you're right Tony, Back in the early days Japan was know as the China of today. Always copying things but they were always improving on them and not just settling for exact duplicates. This is the very reason Japan is now know for all the quality product they manufacture.

Yes, i am going to see what he thinks about making this sport lip but perhaps tweaking it a bit. If anyone has any ideas please chime in.

Oh you don't know how China has wreaked havoc on the lighting industry. It has torn the industry ,I am in, apart. Sylvania, GE and Philips have all at one time or another sued Chinese companies for copying patented designs. These companies have won lawsuits here but in China the Chinese government does not stop them from manufacturing those items.

I think that's the thing - you have a preconceived notion that CS made a direct copy of AE. But if you look at the link I shared of docaam's it seems that CS was actually designing their version on docaam's car and since they are both inspired off the same INGS+1 that is why they look similar.

If you look at the lips close enough they are different even though they resemble each other (mainly the width and the end pieces):

But I digress since both are actually imitations/inspirations of the INGS+1 after all.

This is what alxmlr789 and I hit this weekend. This is the rear toe/camber bolt. My car has the 4WS option and this is what will keep me from lowering my car too much. From the looks, I might be able to gather the parts from a non-4WS car and do a swap.

Well we are both biased so we are going to just agree to disagree

Well what it boils down to is this...there are going to be those of us that want JDM parts and those that don't.
