I'm thinking I paid way too much for my car when I see these threads of people buying 2011 cars with 17k miles on them for 21k. Damnit.

 

It's just changing times. I paid $28k for my '09 back in 2012 with 30k miles. When I bought my '11 last November I paid $22k for it with 40k miles. But I know how you feel. I see G's and Z's for sale on Facebook every once and a while for sale in the low teens and even some for $9, albeit an '04 G35 with 135k.

 

The new Q series B.S. is killing the value of the G sedans down here. There are four G sedans on my street alone. I remember when I had the only one. Oh well, going to need to upgrade in a few years anyway. I can't wait to see what the redesigned Q60 will be like and cost.

 

I'm surprised there aren't more bushings and mounts that people change out on these cares

I did learn with my last car to do bushings/mounts/braces one at a time, so that when you go too far you know what part to change back out


Yeah, doing the shifter is on the short list for me. In fact, shifter and maybe spacers are probably all I want to do still to my car. I'm really happy with where she is at now. The koni + swift combo has taken my car from "good" to "holy shi*" handling.

My commute home takes me through a traffic circle. I come off a 45 mph country road, onto a circle with an inner and outer lane. The outer lane always exits, and the inner lane can exit or go to the next exit. Anyway, you can see oncoming traffic, and if there is none, enter the circle around 45-50 bearing to your right, then moving left around the circle, then quickly right to my exit, then back left to straighten out. Second gear is ideal, with the revs pushing 6K or so when I fling out.

I never leave my lane. No body roll. No tire squeal. Just disgusted looks from my fellow motorists

 

Yeah, I get those looks as well but with tire squeal. It always puts a **** eating grin on my face.

 

Really? I'm embarrassed when my tires slip. Instead of tire squeal, wouldn't you rather snap off the line?

Yes, especially if they're the stock Bridgestones. After my sway install, stock tires combined with a little twisty asphalt road (completely dry), I had my car going sideways. That was WITH VDC on, which was putting forth a heroic and valiant effort to stabilize the car. With a lot of steering input correction, eventually, it did.

Those sizes are such a beautiful combination for our cars. I'm itching to go back. I'm really debating between 19's and 20's.

I've contemplated this for the G and wondered if there was a kit out there to replace all of the bushings and how that would change the driving dynamics after 90k miles..

 

Yes, but they have to be the sport package. It's easiest to see if the car is a G35S or G37S. But that's not always a good indicator as people remove/debadge the G37S from the back of the car.
