Actual long tube headers have no cats; i.e. no test-pipes. There's no room, because of the long-tube header design.

Unless you're thinking of simple aftermarket headers (like Stillen), which are replacements for our OEM shorties.

I ordered one of MTECs shifter springs. Only found one review and it was on a G35 with STS so not really a good comparison.

Figured it was easy to install and I want to change out the transmission fluid anyway when I put on the exhaust so ill be on the area. At $32.98 I don't have much to lose.

Never heard of this. What are you expecting, Lego... will this pull the shifter handle to center faster than otherwise?

About 30 years ago, I had a Hurst shifter in an old T/A, and that thing snapped to center so fast and firm. Is that what this is all about?

Its supposed to reduce side-to-slide slop. Basically there is a spring on each side of the transmission behind a 27mm bolt. These are stiffer springs. Im not expecting much, but if i could reduce the side-to-side play I would be happy.

The BRZ and Si crowd seems to have positive reviews on it.

Ill already have my car up on ramps to do the exhaust and trans fluid, this wont add much time or cost to the process. I never thought changing out the clutch return spring would make such a difference either. Consider me a guinea pig

Today was productive. I cleaned my throttle bodies (which at 60k miles didn't seem to need it), washed my car, and removed the hood liner. I will say that I was surprised at how much louder the intakes sound without the hood liner. The weight savings alone should add at least 5hp. Now to finish cleaning up the spray wax that was tipped over in my trunk during the spirited drive after all of today's projects.

Wanna come and wash mine too? I just got home today and am whupped.

I wonder if your TBs had been cleaned before? Mine weren't too bad but they definitely needed to be cleaned.

Had some very spirited driving of my own, I drove Skyline Drive yesterday and while I was very well behaved in the park there were plenty of twisties getting back to the highway. Of course the Smoky Mountains were a blast and found plenty of folks to play with to make the hours pass. My left arm is cooked however.

Washed, polished and waxed the G today.... Then it poured on me while cruising down town Fort Lauderdale. Looks like it hasn't been washed in weeks. Damnit

Will removing the hood liner affect the hoods paint at all with there being less insulation from the heat? I'm intrigued..... more noise!

Absolutely not. Your hood gets hotter from the sun hitting it during your hottest months of the year. The insulation is mostly for noise I thought. Could be wrong

It's for sound deadening. There's no liner on the 370Z.

If you don't like it off, you can always put it back on.

Nah but the damn paint on the hood.... My paint isn't the best, I get that. But after the road trip my front end is ALL beat to snot. Going to need to give it a scrub and break out the touch up paint. I'm starting to seriously consider wrapping the damn thing.

So which is it... You're removing it tomorrow, or you just took it off? These posts were 17 minutes apart.
