Yep. IMO, it looks totally OEM, unless you know what is or isn't. Which by my way of thinking, is the perfect kind of mod.

The heavy rear-door tints kind of help pull it together. IDK how it would look without window tint. Maybe not so good.

That is just Stunning! Thanks for the pic. Really glad i went with just the bottom strip, because i kind of like the chrome a bit and don't really like the way it looks with it all blacked out. Def. does look OEM and wanted it to match the grill. I will try to get clearer pictures tomorrow.

Has anyone purchased a tow hook license plate bracket for the front bumper? I really don't want to drill into my bumper and just easily thread it into the tow hook input. Found a stillen brand for $90 shipped on ebay and wondering if there are any other cheaper alternatives?

I plan on fabricating my own when my sport bumper arrives. Tow hook and piece of thick sheet metal. Cut the hook end off the tow hook then weld that to the sheet metal. Paint it with anti-corrosive black and you're good to go for about $20 in materials.

Thanks Conner, that's exactly what i was thinking of but didn't know how to do that with our factory tow hook. I guess i gotta try something out since my plate is sitting on my dash at the moment.

i can attest that the stillen works perfectly with the sport bumper. Didn't seem worth the effort to fab one up, imo.

Nice! I'm hoping to try to find an early 70s Datsun 240z for a weekend car at some point.

I keep looking at the Fiats, always liked the ones we had in Spain. My 240 was probably the most fun car I've had. Still miss that thing.

Sooooo does anyone know what is stopping me from using someone else's 2014 navigation update discs? Does Navteq hardcode the unit's ID into the discs or something?

Also if someone has their 2014 navigation discs laying around that they're not using, please PM me.

Good question. . . .also does the upgrade just add destinations or does it also make the maps look smoother? I really don't like the look of the '09 maps.

I thought they were hard coded but I could be wrong. I haven't updated yet, suppose I should eventually.

I'm assuming it would add destination information and new routes. It wouldn't change the look of the system - that would be a SW update.

That's what VW said and you can copy the software installation and Navteq map disc all day. I'm just wondering if someone on here has their 2014 update disc that I can test out for an install on another G.

Be worth a try for certain. If I had them I'd send you a set. For long trips I still rely in my garmin normally. Maybe I do need the update or maybe I just can't figure out how to work the dang thing over a couple states...
