That was an excellent, well researched review as I listened to it a few weeks back and thought I posted a link here somewhere.

2025 is the last year for the IS500
TLX Type X is a FWD car with a rear diff added
S4 might be interesting if I thought that I could get 7-8 years out without major repairs
Infiniti is in a good spot here from a brand perspective as Nissan is king of the legacy RWD JDM space, but I am still nervous about the longer term viability of the company.
I did read that the Nismo Z will be offered with a 6MT in 2026, so this may be part of a larger plan for Nissan to carve out an enthusiast niche and return to their roots: https://www.caranddriver.com/news/a6...ion-confirmed/
I think the news was leaked a little early, there is nothing in the 2026 information shared to dealers that the 6psd will be available in the Nismo Z. It will most likely be available as a 2027 inline with the new Infiniti offering.

Makes sense as 2026 models are likely already designed. The Mercedes transmission in the Nismo gets good reviews for an auto:
I like Matt and Smoking Tire because he cares about the same things I do and he doesn't spend all of his time on Supercars.
He literally states in the review how he feels that the Nismo Z is a transformation from the Nissan Z Performance, which is unlike the prior Gen where the Nismo felt more like a modded Z.
Low mileage versions of the prior gen Nismo Z with manual trans are slowly creeping up in price and a low mileage version will cost you 40K (higher trim levels were only 50K new).
Hey fellow AWD coupe owners. On rockauto, the shock/strut assemblies have different part numbers for the Sedan and the Coupe.
I wanted to get some coilovers (BC or something), but I am not seeing anything specifically for the AWD coupe. The AWD coilover thread does not mention if the sedan coilovers will work w/ the coupe. I wanted to get some clarification.

The 370Z reddit sub is active, but the posts are mostly "Did I pay too much" and "why is it making this sound"
Old Z forum had alot of good DIY and Review content.
I've been mostly seeing the same over the past few months, but its intermittent. Generally I will see the DB error, however every once in a while the link I'm following will load without issue.
Likely either something going on with their webhost, or a lack or maintenance/updates on their end. Zilvia (an old s-chassis forum) had similar issues a couple years ago, but they've since resolved it once the owners were notified. Not sure who runs http://www.the370z.com/, but hopefully someone reaches out soon.
All is pretty quiet here, Bull. I miss having your around.
I miss this place as well. Its pretty funny how very little time I have now that I'm back to turning wrenches and wiring.
Life is good and I'm happy. Working on race/drift cars now full time.
This is our current project for out VQ37VHR drift car. Stillen supercharger.
We traded a lift for the SC
Its all Stillen. Because it was a full kit we're running ice water for now and later switch to A2A cooler.
We'll be switching to ECUTEK from Uprev to ditch the MAFs and switch to speed density (MAP) and run an open blower.
The adapter to install the Mafs is 2.5 Y pipe that goes into the charger that 4-5 inches and it's about 3 inches long, ridiculous bottleneck there.
Depending on how hot we get we might spray water/methanol, who knows.
Very confident and excited since we made 330whp, we should see some really good numbers.
Just starting to look into audio upgrades, looking for a noticeable bump in sound quality. Thinking just a speaker upgrade without getting into amps, subs, etc. Also prefer to keep the OEM headunit.
Planning to do my homework, just curious if anyone has done a modest audio upgrade and has recs on what worked well

Speakers only are really tricky as alot of thought has been put into the way the drivers work together to create a sound stage. I have looked into this a few times and the biggest bang for the buck would be to change the bandpass in the front door 3.5" mids in as they ring a bit because the higher frequencies designed for the tweeter are included in the OEM filtering for the mid. Rear seat drivers are easy to replace with efficient 2 ohm units, but little is added by them into the overall imaging (he talks about this early in the thread below).
Initially, I always recommend adding an amp, sub and DSP (depending on the music you listen to, needed for bass recreation on older music) off the low level inputs (OWC makes a harness) on the OEM Bose system. You would be surprised just how much better the OEM system sounds with decently powered bass (not over or underpowered) and some DSP-based recreation (examples of where its needed: Spirit of the Radio (Rush), Tangerine (Zeppelin), A National Acrobat (Sabbath), etc.)
You will need to reinforce the adhesive padding on seat where it connects to the metal hooks or the inevitable buzzing will drive you nuts. I can show you the weak spot.
