Oh wow! That is a mess! Maybe it's time to buy a Jeep?
How long before they are supposed to finish the work, John? When they did the same thing in our neighborhood, they finished each section in about a day and a half, but they asked us to wait about a week before driving on the new concrete.

No Jeep. Not now, not ever.
They said to expect 4-5 nights of on-street parking in adjoining side streets, or using the driveways of across-the-street neighbors. Today they poured the gutters. I expect tomorrow they'll fill in the gaps and aprons with gravel, so that we can use our driveways again this weekend. We'll see what happens. Next week it starts all over again on the South side of the road. As for milling down the main road and getting a new one... that's anybody's guess.
Yesterday a representative from the town's Public Works department said that maybe (!!!) they would lower my sidewalk because of the severe pitch. Still waiting on a call return there. Hope is high, but so is pessimism.
Residents got fliers on their door the week prior. That was the only notification. They're digging and laying down new gutters on the North side this week, the South side next week, and the road itself sometime after. People were scrambling like ants to park on the nearby side streets, which is where my wife and both of my girls be parking their cars for weeks to come. Not my car, though... it's tucked away in my garage, LOL. Trapped, but that's OK.
I do need all of this done in the next few weeks, because I'm taking my car on a road trip to meet up with an old forum friend from Columbus, OH. You guys might remember ShuuraRG from years ago. He had a modified G37X Sedan that he traded in for a 370Z Nismo, that he traded in for a Jaguar F-Type R.
I would do the same. That's why I have my 2010 Ranger with 200K miles. Rain, 4x4ing in the front yard like your utilities company expects you to do, quick trips around town and to the park for a run. It's perfect. Longer drives, I take the G. However, I drove my car to LA and back a few weeks ago and the car took a beating following Waze and weaving through industrial parks side lots, alleys, etc. trying to avoid traffic. Bump stops activated many times, rock chips, filthy air leaving a black spotted residue on everything (tar?), covered in wiper fluid by the people that never wash their cars and use the wiper fluid to bath their window and the cars around them while driving. Work pays me mileage to go there, so I'm thinking of using some of that $200 to just rent an econobox next time for $47.
That's great that you have stayed in touch with ShuuraRG. Transitioning to a Nismo seems like a common path for G owners. Do you ever talk to Black Betty? He was the Rochester protege as both of your styles are very similar to one another. Early on I was always worried that dude would yell at me for not using search or posting in the wrong area. As a G35 forum defector, I had to be careful not to wear out my welcome. Wish you didn't live so damn far away.
Some examples of LA streets (Waze don't care):

Yeah, ShuuraRG and I stay in regular contact. His Jaguar is joy to drive, notwithstanding the lack of a proper transmission. Few things can make a 60 year old man giggle like heavy throttle on a F-Type R... I'm not proud, LOL. That supercharged V8 is one of the most rewarding cars I've ever driven. No, scratch that, it is the most rewarding car I've ever driven. Love it.
And yes, BB had strong opinions, and was much more quick to slap people down. We were never friends, per se. But he was in charge, and that's that.
Now you're in charge.

The car was owned by some rich guy that stored it in a hanger prior, so low miles and in mint condition (think he paid 25K for it?).
The power was so pure John and the delivery instant as it wanted to pull harder until you got scared and let go. He kept telling me, "push it harder, it can take it"
I was so impressed that I wanted to buy one. Then the Red Pill moment occurred as there are horror stories online of people dropping 10s of thousands of dollars on these cars trying to keep them on the road.
Cold feet, stuck with the Nissan product. Probably did a mod or two to get over the let down and appreciate my car again.
That would be really cool if done right. I haven't done a whole lot of research into the new Z's as far as reliability and tunability goes though. All I remember reading is that it has sloppy suspension, crappy traction control, and also that the block is an open deck design so I'm not sure how much additional boost it can safely handle if tuned. So if the new Q50 shares the same motor or some suspension, I'm not sure how interested I'd be unless some aspects are updated.
Someone is listening. Reliable RWD oriented Performance JDM sedan (maybe add Hybrid?). There is a market. Is it as large as the EV, SUV or Pickup market, of course not. But there is money to be made being very good at something specific.
