Definitely check the infant car seat if this will be the primary family car. I have a 4 year old and a 1 month old. The normal car seat fits okay but the rear facing infant one does not unless you have a very short passenger who doesn't mind eating dashboard.

Yeah, the rear-facing seat forces the passenger seat quite a bit forward. My wife is about average height for a woman, and never had any issues sitting there. I'm taller than average, and even I could sit there for a little while, when needed. You'd need a much larger car to really have enough space in the rear, with the kid seat. But you should see how much worse the 3-series is, in that regard. The G is just that much larger, to make it more comfortable.
