Splash Guard Question
Splash Guard Question
I have a 2009 G37 Sport Sedan on Coupe Wheels. Dropping on Eibach Springs this weekend. Do you guys think the G's look better with or without the splash guards? Mine have stains on them that don't come off with anything and I was planning on either taking them off or buying new ones.

I really like my splash guards, I think it ties in better with the other OEM Aero parts though (Front chin and rear deck lid spoiler). Plus protection from rock chips on the sides/rear is nice given how easy the G's paint seems to scratch.
Yeah I guess you're right about it meshing better with all the other OEM Aero parts. I'm currently trying to purchase the lip and the spoiler, but I can't find the spoiler at a reasonable price. My splash guards have these black spray stains from idk what. I've tried everything and it doesn't come off.
Tried a clay bar? Or is it asphalt/tar from the road?
I ordered my spoiler from sewell infiniti, it was $340 +$21 shipping (I had to pay Tax since they're based in Texas though, still the cheapest I found at the time).
edit: Also there will be holes where you remove them you'd have to plug up with black clips or paint them to match.

Did the spoiler come painted? Do you have the back up camera?
I would just take them off because the stains that they have really bother me. Then again I can get a set of four for $35 dollars painted and everything.
I haven't tried a clay bar, but I'm going to look into it. I honestly don't know. I don't think it's asphalt or tar because it looks like its wet with like some black liquid, but obviously its just dry and stained.

Yea it came painted ready to install, the 09 might be a little cheaper than mine was since I have a newer color "graphite shadow". I have the camera and it had the cut out for hole for it as well. Check Ebay, I saw a few 09 spoilers cheap on there, might get lucky and find your color.
Also those black stains might be where the paint has worn off, the undercoating is black, so it may be showing through the paint. If you can get a new set that cheap I'd go for it.

There are few new cars that have splash guards specifically designed by the manufacturer. I believe the G37 looks much better with them as they are integrated so well into the car body, give it additional contours wrap around wheels and unique luxurious looking, and certainly functions well.
They are made from the same material as bumper covers - plastics. I would rather have stains on the splash guards than the car body. It's great that Infiniti still offering them.
