Recirculation/fresh air button question

Issue: operating car with a/c on and vent set to fresh air; car is turned off to park and when restarted system is switched to recirculating. Why does the setting not remain until changed?

Agree with above. If you have your a/c set to "auto" it will run recirc to get the car cooler, quicker. It will switch to fresh air after it has cooled the car down enough.

The ac works harder when it draws in outside air. The car has a climate control that will work most efficiently to get it cooled down by recirculating the air inside rather than the hot and possibly humid outside. Trust me it is a faster solution for climate control.

I've never not used the auto setting on my a/c, but I'd assume it might still automatically switch to recirc to cool the car down quicker when first started up. Maybe the owner's manual says something about it?

Even with auto off, the displayed temp setting is still the goal of the A/C unit. Auto just controls the fan speed & venting.

I don't think my climate control switches between fresh air and recirculate if I have previously pressed that button.

Pressing the auto button should of course leave the climate control in charge.

On another note I always leave it in auto, can't see using the climate control as if it were a manual hot/cool lever.

I'm having the same issue, did you find out the solution. I know it's only been a couple days.
I tried replacing my sir intake actuator and it still didn't fix it.
Does this affect your air temperature? Mine gets a lot warmer when I have this issue.
