going in for my first oil change

kings infiniti in brooklyn, ny

what should i be looking out for? its a lease, so i dont care if they use dino or ester. ill just let them do what they gotta do. gotta remember to lock the glovebox, since my ipod and my navi are in there.

is wheel rotation part of this first service? ill have to dig out my locking bolt key.

how much are infiniti oil changes usually? back when i had my nissan, the same dealership had a loyalty program where for $140, i would get free oil changes for as long as i own the car. definitely paid for itself

I agree with your oil choice. Mine is a lease as well and I'm not springing for anything more than what the manual mandates unless I notice any noises or other issues. Mine is a coupe Sport so I can't rotate my tires; not sure about the AWD.

I don't have a local Infiniti dealer so I usually get my Nissan dealer to do oil changes and they charge around $30 for dino oil and an inspection....

Tires rotated @7500 miles.. i do believe. You really think they'll lift your ipod and garmin? Damn! +1 on who cares what oil they use as long as they're doing it to factory specs.. it's a lease. $35-$40ish probably. Gave me free 1st oil change and hand wash every time it's in for service.. which very well may be the only time it's washed! Luv leasing!

^ Just cause it's a lease doesn't mean you should treat it like dirt, it's still your car for a while..

^this, plus a little respect for the guy (or gal) who's going to get the car on it's next run.

Don't get me wrong.. as a 'Lessee' we are supposed to take proper care of the vehicle. Never is 'our car' though so not picky about oil brands when dealership is servicing (warranty issues are covered) and washings.. come on. It'll get run through a touch-less wash every now and then to keep that brand new look and a Spring/Fall interior detail.

As for the 'next run' folks.. I'm driving this thing like I stole it! It'll be in far better condition than if you bought a beat Hertz rental but I'm gonna drive it hard for 36 months with a big grin on my face. So sorry!

Changing oil to the specs laid out in the owner's manual is not "disrespecting the next guy". If the manual says dino juice is ok, why the hell would I get something more expensive???

I wasn't arguing about the oil situation ( I backed you up in a previous oil-related post you made BTW). Just the overall attitude that "since it's a lease I'm gonna beat the crap out of this car". My reply wasn't really dirrected at anyone in particular.

I'm not under any obligation to baby my car for the next owner. If they want a perfect car, they should buy new like I did.

Of course, if someone wants to pay half my payment in anticipation of being the next owner, I'd be glad to keep it under 6k RPM for the next year or two.
