Unhappy Oil change fail from dealer-help pls

Hey everyone! I took in my 09 g37 for its first oil change at 3,700 miles(metro infiniti of monrovia, ca). AFTER i got it back, i noticed the idel was a little rough, and the rpm at rest where under 1000rpm, i figured that the car needed to get used to my driving again. well, yesterday i noticed they didnt change the sticker on the windshield for the next oil change..so i went under the hook, checked the dip stick, and BAM! i found a dark brown oil.. Now heres my questions, is it possible that the oil could have changed color from gold, to brown in only 400 miles? or is it possible that their stupid techs didnt even change the oil, or is the dealer busting a jiffy lube and reusing old oil? any ideas? advice on another reason why the engine is running rough?

The color of the oil is concerning, but I assume your G was running smoothly enough before the oil change. Why would the idle be rough afterwards even if they DIDN'T change the oil?

The only way to answer this is to go back to Metro Infiniti and have them check the dipstick for themselves. In most cases, the color of the oil depends on what type and brand of bulk oil the dealer is using for their standard changes. My wife's G37xS just had its first service and the engine seems to run smoothly on standard Castrol GTX (that's the bulk oil my dealer stocks). You may want to opt for the premium quality ester oil that so many on the boards have touted. It seems to help with upper end lubrication of the VQ37VHR.

I would never go to West Covina Nissan! I use to go there all the time for oil changes since I bought the G, and when I recently did my own oil change I found more than 1/2 the bolts missing for my under hood cover gone, looks like they got lazy and didn't bother bolting everything back together. So I had to spend 15 buck to get all them bolts back and notice my car much quieter when on fwy since the cover isn't flapping around.
