So, why did YOU choose the Sedan over the Coupe, or Vice Versa?
I agree ^^ they are no drag racers, and I don't think you can really consider either particularly fast, especially with the plethora of FI'd sixes and V-8s (and some FI'd 4's even) available in many luxury and non-luxury vehicles. That's a bit of a shame, actually, because I'd like a just bit more power - not much, but the G would be just about perfect with 30-50 lbs more torque & 20-30 more HP. Maybe the 2011 DI VVEL will do the trick...
that's really it, as good as the car is. it's that fact that there's it's 330 hp and 270 torque... that torque number needs to go up for an 3.7L v6... I mean the engine is still good but man...
come on Nissan/infiniti. just slap two turbos on the engine and you'll fix ALL THE PROBLEMS

Coupe for these reasons for me got it before the sedan came out.... even if the sedan was out still wouldve gone with the coupe, passengers if they complain about the backseat let them drive... also coupe is just sex
The car is not a dragster for sure, but....

Maybe it's just me, but I don't see how anyone can say 330hp is not enough for a daily driver, even with only 270ftlb torque. That is serious power and is more than enough to get around with. Those are pretty high numbers for what you pay IMO.

You say you want more torque. Well, if Nissan did that with the current G37 motor, you would lose horsepower because the redline would not be as high as it is. You guys need to look at the torque curve, not overall torque or hp. The G37's powerband is exceptional. This motor makes 89 horsepower per liter folks, that's GOOD. ESP for an NA motor. You must be comparing the tq numbers to the 335 and it's not even close to a fair comparison. Once you go go forced induction, tq increases dramatically. Why don't you guys check out the torque on a Turbo G and compare.
Bottom line is you get A LOT for your money with the G. Esp motor wise. Sheesh

However, that being said, I agree - they are pretty darn zippy on their own, and are very satisfying. High HP is important, more important than torque in many ways, as it shows how much work an engine can do over time. So when high torque low HP engines are constantly shifting into a lower gear, to a non-ideal place in the torque curve, the high horsepower / high revving engine can stay in the power-making range for a much longer period of time, avoiding having to use addtional gearing to keep generating torque over and over. So, in many ways, 330 hp and 271 torque is more important than 300 hp, 310 torque - the 330 engine will win a longer race at higher speeds, I believe.

Because the Toyota Avalon, a car my grandmother drives, goes 0-60 in 6 secs. That's quick. Fast is something else. under 5 secs is pretty fast; 1/4 mile in the 12s is nice fast. Lots of cars can do that, from Evos to amg 55/63s, Old f-bodys, Pontiac GXPs, various bimmers, blah blah, lots of cars go 0-60 in under 5, and ours ain't one of them. 30 more torque would do it, though, I think....

Coupe...
1. You only live once
2. Gets more looks
3. Can respectfully decline any situations of being the DD/Carpool Driver
4. Lower center of gravity
5. 6MT & Coupe are harmonious together
6. Coupe is way sexier than Sedan in silhouette/styling/body curves (see #2)

I agree. Infiniti could solve all this by dropping the V8 from the FX50 into the G lineup.
