I have found the the computer MPG in between the tachometer and speedo overestimates MPG by almost exactly 1 MPG. Meaning, if it says you're getting 23 MPG, you're actually getting around 22 if you do the math on miles driven vs. amount of gas you purchased.

With 93 octane, my car has averaged 22.7 MPG in the 12,000 miles that I've driven the car. Since there are two MPG computers, I have one that I never reset, and the other I reset every tank of gas. On individual trips, I've found that in the Summer you can get 29-30 MPG on a long highway trip going 70-80 MPH. In the winter, I was only able to get around 25-26 going the same speed in 10-20 degree (F) weather.

Every time you fill up your car (even with the same pump) you will get different amounts of fuel depending upon different factors such as temperature, sensitivity of the shut off valve, etc. Unless you are filling up a container to a specific capacity and emptying that into your tank, figuring out how much gas you've used by calculating how much you've put in will be inaccurate. You may have burned 15 gallons of gas from your last fill up, but that does not mean the pump will put 15 gallons back in. It may put 14.5, or 16. So your calculations are based upon the assumption that the pump will fill the tank to the exact point that it was the last time. The shut off valves are not that accurate.

i get roughly 17-18 mpg on surface streets plus freeway (not to forget the lovely stop and go traffic in LA).

my last tank i only got about 15 mpg, but i was driving around town with a pretty heavy foot on the throttle. if i try to granny drive it to get the most mpg, ive gotten around 20-22 mpg, but that really takes the fun and joy out of my driving experience.

City 80% of the time and job it's 10 mins away from home. Yesterday I did a quick 20 mile drive in highway and my car did 30MPG!! I was amazed lol, I guess G37's like high and stable speed only... not stop and go... I fill it up every week with Shell V-Power Nitro Plus. ($55)

I wish I could get 18MPG lol even with really granny driving I get 14 MPG in my sedan lol City driving only, but highway the G performs really good with cruise control set to 70MPH I got 30MPG for the first time Can't complain it's a performance car, the other day I raced a Mustang V6 3.7 2015 and the guy was surprised that an OLD 2012 Sedan with a passenger could keep up with his "Sport Car"

^^^Good Job with that Mustang^^^
I get around 18 MPG mixed driving and I recently got 21 MPG with 90% hwy SD to LA trip. Im a little bummed since only a tad bit better than my 97 v6 4runner, but at least its a rocket compared to my 4runner.

Now that I've had my car for a while, I find it hard to get less than 21.5 with normal mixed driving. Recently went on a trip and got 26mpg.

Racing on a public road can result in you being arrested, losing your vehicle, loss of insurance/and or unaffordable premiums and possible jail time if you cause an accident.

Don't do it!
