I'd be interested in seeing some photos confirming your $2300 supercharger investment on improving your MPG.

Have you ever calculated how many miles and how many gallons of gasoline it would take to obtain a return on your $2300 investment?

BTW I only use regular 87 octane and get excellent highway mileage.

I got a question . So yours say around 450 miles till empty. The "miles remaining", is it accurate..? Cause when I filled up the tank to full when I first got it, it said I had 360miles remaining when it was on a fresh tank... Kind of confusing haha.

Off the subject. Can anyone recommend an SUV with a third row that averages better than 20mpg? Real Life MPG experience preferred as I can look up window sticker MPG, but those numbers are rarely correct.

I need to trade my wife's pilot in soon, but I am not terribly familiar with MPG rating of SUVs anymore since it's been 7 years or so since I last shopped for one.
Toyota Highlander Hybrid or the 4 cylinder version.

Here are my stats after 7 weeks of ownership. I'm pretty happy with the mileage of my 2010 Journey Premium. My previous gasoholic was a 2004 Ford F-150.

Tried driving very conservatively for an entire tank. 40% highway, 60% city. Got 20.2 MPG. No clue how you guys are putting up such high numbers. I do have the 6MT, just doesn't seem like an automatic should be able to get better MPG, much less THAT much better.

That said, if I drive like my normal, lead-footed self, I average right around 19. I don't think it's worth the extra 1.2 to drive like an old lady lol.

Actually, with the 7th gear, freeway mileage should be owned by the 7AT. That being said, I agree with you. Don't know how they get the numbers they get. If I get 21 to 21.5 it is because I'm being very mindful about how I drive. I know that even within the same year, same model, different cars will get different mileage as well as different performance. But there seems to be quite a few that get better mileage that I can eek out even on my best behavior.

I'm lucky in the fact that my commute is mostly highway, and I drive against traffic since I'm heading out when everybody is heading in, and vice versa in the afternoon. I have 3.5 miles to the highway, then highway for 19 miles and I'm doing 75-80 mph the whole way up and back. And my office is right next to the highway when I exit.

I should probably be getting better mileage now that I think about it, but the weekend is all surface streets and stoplights running the weekend errands.

On the early morning when I took that photo, I filled up at my usual WaWa station which is about a mile from the NJ Turnpike. I do a reset on every fillup. The weather conditions on that morning had a temperature of around 65 degrees with low humidity. That photo was taken after my 50 mile commute to work all highway at 65 MPH no cruise control and inflated tires at 35lbs
I have been doing the same trip for over ten years and the results vary with weather conditions. Some days I'll see 25MPG and on very cold winter days with a winter blend fuel sometimes only 23MPG for the same trip at the same speed. That particular day was an outstanding result that I've never been able to exceed.

The computer is fairly accurate but I rarely ever go below a 1/4 tank before a refill. Short trips, frequent starts and restarts, long idle periods will kill decent MPG on an Infiniti

Your results may vary

I think the "distance to empty" depends on what the computer calculates as your MPG at any given moment. Or some type of average over the preceding miles/time. Because I've watched the distance to empty actually go UP as I'm driving, if I'm on the freeway, and my average MPG is going up. I've filled up, seen it at around 350-360, and then climb to 425-430 once I've been on the freeway for a while.

It does. At fill-up, it calculates based upon what you did prior and continues to adjust depending upon your driving habits. This is how cars do it in general.

I just drove my 2011 G37 Journey sedan automatic (with 45,000 miles on the clock) from Anaheim, Ca to Elk Grove, CA (just a little south of Sacramento). A total of 410 miles.

Averaged 25.5 MPG. And that's with the cruise control set at 85 MPH for the majority of the trip, including thru the Grapevine (Tehachapi Pass on I-5).

I drive almost exclusively within the city due to work only being 3 miles away. So I'd say 95% City / 5% Highway .. and my current MPG is 17.3 .. it was 17.4 on Monday, but I suppose it will eventually hit 17.
