Battery dead window didn't roll up mechanic said motor was bad
I had a mechanic replace a dead battery. He said the window wouldn't roll back up. He tore apart the panel and said the motor was bad. I don't think this was a coincidence because he was supposed to reset the windows. Am I wrong?

Resetting involves recalibrating the auto up/down feature. The window should still roll up/down when the switch is depressed. If it's not, likely a switch, motor, or bcm issue.
The driver's side door does not work at all now up or down. It functioned fine before. The mechanic tore the panel off and tried to bypass the switch? To run the motor manually. Now the motor doesn't crank at all. I think he blew out both instead of resetting the window like he should after the battery was replaced. He tried to leave with the window half down when I told him he had to reset the windows.
Not a coincidence. Once the battery is disconnected the window will not roll up . Ground needs to be connected to work. then the window has to come all the way down before it can roll up. If it was disconnected with the window halfway down it will never come up unless you bring it down all the way. Then it needs to be reset. He should of never taken it apart. More than sure if its messed up he is the one that caused it
Yessir. That's what I told him. Fyi my back won't let me change my own battery. I can't reach the molding clips in the center. Old age sucks and isn't for the faint of heart. Thank you for confirming!

@Birdie, I don't remember having to roll the window all the way down to have it come up at all. Maybe it's model year unique - mine was a '12 sedan. It's been 2+ years since I last replaced a battery in this car so my memory is a bit foggy. If the window doesn't go in any direction at this point then there's definitely a problem.
