So yeah I lost my key about a month ago in the river. I left my fob in the car with the sunroof opened a tad bit just in case. Well anyways yeah lesson learned. I went to the dealership to see if they can just cut a blank one and they did, however the blank one does not unlock my car because they claim that the key hole was changed. I'm from Houston. Any locksmiths you guys are aware of that can make me a key from scratch? Or can I just order the key hole from the infinity dealership? I already have 3 fobs in total programed just no key.
I've never used my key to open the car but I have used it a bunch of times to lock the glovebox when dropping it off for service/detailing/etc and just put things like my iPod and headphones in there. As far as locksmiths go, have you tried calling any? I have to believe there are some in your area capable of this.
I still think the dealer to which you went is pulling a fast one. Have you tried Sewell or Clear Lake?
I haven't tried another dealership, since the dealer on I45 told me that the lock was changed and that's why the key they cut me didn't work. They suggested I should go to a locksmith.

I called up around 15-20 different locksmiths, most of them were incapable of doing it.
This makes no sense. The replacement lock had to be purchased somewhere, most likely at a dealership so I'm sure there has to be a record of the key being cut. I'd also check the glove compartment to see if the key that they actually cut works. If not then they did a ****ty job. Years ago, someone broke into a car that I owned through the do lock. I took it to my mechanic who basically told me he could just weld it shut internally so the the lock could never work again or I could just buy a new drivers side door lock, which meant I'd need to replace the passenger side lock (when cars still had those), the glove lock and the trunk lock (also when cars still had those). I went the broke college student route.
