Lost only key

Well on Friday I somehow lost my only key to my g in my house. Looks like its $400 to get this replaced.... Not really a question in this thread. Just a warning to those who own one key fob, buy a replacement before you need it

Damn... and I thought $250 for a BMW Key FOB was steep!

if you know its lost in your house, why aren't you tearing up the place to look for it? Or did your dog eat it like in Gone in 60 Seconds? LoL

make sure you shop around. There was almost a $100 difference between dealerships here is AZ as well as I have heard of people buying the FOB's off ebay and being able to get a locksmith to do the rekey.

I bought my coupe used from a private seller and he included 2 extra keys so I have 3 total + an extra viper alarm fob. I'd keep at least ONE extra just incase. The newer fobs/laser cut key prices are ridiculous.

DO NOT spend $400 for a key. You can get them cheaper on ebay and then have the dealer just reprogram it or even some locksmiths.

+1. I paid $40 ish for the fob on ebay and then had it programmed at a Nissan dealership for around $70.

And be glad that you can!

My other car is a MB GL and the keys can only be programmed by the dealer...

If you don't find one on Ebay let me know if you want to buy the one I'm selling! Good luck either way… It must suck to loose your key!
