G37 Coupe 370Z NISMO Catback Exhaust Conversion

So I recently picked up a full catback off of a 2014 370z NISMO and decided to give the conversion a shot. For the backstory: I had a full Magnaflow CBE from when I first got my G and about 6 months ago I installed non-resonated test pipes. I loved the loudness at first, but over time the excessive rasp and drone drove me insane. I intend on going aftermarket in the future, and the NISMO was a good option to allow bolt-on mods since the Manga was welded. Anyway, the H pipe and axle-back bolted on perfectly (hangers are in the same location). The only discrepancy is the mid-pipe, which needs to be extended by about 12” to make up for the longer wheel base. Z1/TopSpeed sell the extensions for $60-80ea, but I was not about to pay $160+ for something I can fabricate myself, so I did just that. I first cut the NISMO mid pipe and hung it in the hangers and mocked the flanges up to the H pipe. I then cut out a section of the Magnaflow mid pipe and cut x2 12.5” sections (after measuring the length needed, and 12” was spot on). After cleaning up the flanges, welding in the extensions, and replacing all of the gaskets I ended up with a slightly louder than stock exhaust note with a deeper tone and virtually no rasp or drone. I’m in the market for an axle back (Megan, TopSpeed, or similar) but for now I’m digging the NISMO tips, just may have to extend them an inch or two as they sit slightly under the bumper. For anyone thinking of this conversion, I hope this provides some insight.

i have a nismo muffler on my car it is one of the quietest muffler i have ever encountered. It is GREAT for DDing though. Vid of mine this with NO resonators, just straight pipe to the muffler. the only difference i can see between my setup and yours is the sport mid pipe and aftermarket y-pipe.

I did this same conversion yesterday and added a typhoon intake. The sound is perfect now,, made more of a difference than I expected. I reset the ECU because the car was feeling a little jerky. The exhaust and midpipe brackets had to be moved slightly. All in all it was a bigger job than expected but worth every penny.

Just an FYI..... The IPL Exhaust is the same(except it's designed to fit the G37/Q60) as the NISMO....... and it's hangers are already in the correct locations for the G37/Q60.......

Tail lights?

Are those Depo tail lights w/clear housing & black finish inside? Been eyeing these but unsure of how they will look on my red g. More pics for me please?! Do you like them?
