Good day to all, been on here for quite a while but never really posted. Wanted to give a shout out to Joe over at ZSpeed for the assistance and parts needed for today's work on the Infiniti. Ordered a aluminum splash shield, magnetic drain bolt, and clutch master cylinder. Everything came together and each item individually packaged. Thanks a lot and now to car maintenance time.
Highly considering painting or wrapping it but looking forward to the install next week. Also for anyone that is going to be doing the cmc remove and replace themselves, it's a pita and takes a good amount of wrestling with it to get the old style (damper included) cmc out. The current type for the g37 does not have the damper incorporated anymore. Went in so much easier.
Don't bother wrapping it. It will get scratched/scuffed and probably mess the wrap up. I have thought about painting mine though and throwing some rust protector on it.
thats the cmc for the 370z. they dont have the damper. all g37 cmcs have the damper
From my understanding and looking at a whole lot of different places the cmc without the damper is considered OE now. One place had a side note that the damper was the cause of some issues and was a reason for the change(will have to look it back up for posting it here). For anyone that is more knowledgeable than me on this please chime in.

Good note to take there. Was just a consideration but will go with painting it, and when it gets road damaged a simple repaint will help it look just as good.
Talking about rust protection, the thread on the battle against rust from Justin Bailey is an amazing read and much respect for his hard work and effort.
all u have to do is compare part numbers and you will have the official answer. compare nissan 370z part number and last g37 model part number from nissan parts online and inifiniti parts online. thats what the dealership will go by. zspeed is a little different and more aware as they sell performance parts. so they will naturally recommend the z cmc for install ease.
The 2008 cmc part number was superceded to 30610-jk00c and looking at the parts charts it does have the damper attached. The 370 part number is 30610-jk00b. Infiniti clutch master cylinder assembly diagram Nissan clutch master cylinder assembly diagram
I have the part installed and everything, to me there is no difference in clutch pedal feel. I'm well aware of what a damper does in a hydraulic system but would there be any reason for the damper specifically to be on the g37.
Damper is there to reduce "any" pedal NVH. I have swapped 100's of these to the Z34 master and have yet to notice any difference in NVH in the pedal, Just makes them a whole lot easier to swap out on the G.
The damper is nothing but a small cavity with a rubber o-ring.
@ZSpeedPerformance thanks for the input. Been driving with no issues or difference in pedal feel or engagement. Did make the install a whole lot easier for sure.
