Having the screen separate is actually practical for the designers since if something happens it is easier to replace and you don't need to predetermine the size beforehand(considering they start designing the cars several years prior to release and how much change happened in terms of cost, size of the tablets this decision makes sense).

Actually I wish it was also possible to take the screen off when we don't need it.

Overall I dislike the MB interior(those airvents are like they are from a comics villan's car) however I also dislike the multiple screens in the new q60.

I had that in my MB C-Class. It was cool at first, but after the initial ooooohs and ahhhhs, it got old and annoying pretty quick.

Yeah lots of peeps did that. Cadillac had it in the CTS, my dads Z4 had it and clearly the G35 had it. Its pretty cool but I like having it stationary in the dash for some reason. I think the one on the baby Benz, though possibly practical, looks cheap.

the new Audi TT display is pretty awesome - most everything is displayed right in the instrument cluster. i just don't like everything that surrounds it.

So... the Q60 is getting a MB engine?

"The Infiniti Q60 is a response to competitors from BMW, Mercedes, Lexus or Audi, and it will be a premium two-door four seater, powered by a range of engines, with the twin-turbo 3.0 liter V6 from Mercedes-Benz being the tip of the iceberg.

In terms of power, the Q60 will offer as much as 400 horsepower, less than the M4 or the new C63. The same engine would power the Q50 sedan, according to Kruger. No word on whether the future Eau Rouge version would continue down the Nissan GT-R engine route or borrow something from the Mercedes-Benz bin as well."

No! The turbo 3.0 V6 is a Nissan/Infiniti in house developed engine.

The 2.0T 4 Cylinder will be Mercedes for the Q50 Sedan
The 3.0T will be Nissan

The 2.0T will be "assembled" in the US on behalf of Nissan for Mercedes. Expect tons of problems.

Actually, I would expect less problems as when things are assembled by Nissan employees they seem to hold up better.

I too thought the new engine was made in house. So you guys think that's a typo or misquote, because the article infers Kruger himself said it was a "twin-turbo 3.0 liter V6 from Mercedes-Benz"?

I don't know. I've seen Cars assembled in the US with horrible mis-aligned fender gaps. .03mm on the left, and .07mm off on the right. UGLY!

The specifications is probably less lenient here in the US. Things can be a few mm out of spec and gets a pass. Whereas, in Japan or Germany, you will dishonor your family name for crappy work.
