Well yeah, everyone likes being driven around in a limousine, no matter how tacky or conspicuous it is. However, owning one as your DD, that takes a particular kind of person that I don't get.

Meh. Values are personal. And business is business.

I wish Infiniti would do an XL version of the QX80. Right now your choices are....Escalade, Denali, and Navigator EL. Not an inspiring lot...

Interesting. It makes sense. And they claim that they were leaked this info form a company rep. I don't know how credible that claim is though. If Infiniti were going to leak info, I'd think they might choose a higher profile source to get it out there. But it peaks my interest a little.

EDIT: a little digging turned up another source claiming to also have have this info confirmed from an anonymous Infiniti rep also.

Very interesting! I was expecting it to make 375-400, so this sounds believable! The more powerful and aggressive 450 version (if its true) they speak of definetly has my attention!

I just found read else that will hopefully quash posters who repeatedly keep saying that it will (or might) have an MB power plant after Infiniti has already explicitly said it won't.

An Infiniti spokesman couldn't confirm the power projections, but he did shed some light on this new 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 engine. He said it's an all-new Infiniti engine, not a motor on loan from Nissan's new friends at Mercedes as I (and a lot of other folks) originally assumed.
The Sexy Infiniti Q60 Will Pack A 400 HP Twin-Turbo V6: Report

Of course they said that some time ago and so many people still won't accept it. Maybe witnessing the verge of the birth of the VQ's successor is too much for some people's minds to handle.

It doesn't explicitly state that the more powerful engine will be a more robust version of the same engine or a different one altogether, although that seems highly unlikely. So what are they doing to make the extra 50 ponies? Tuning, intake, and exhaust; or different parts?

I would think with some tuning, swap out some parts and exhaust that getting the extra 50hp is doable.

With a FI engine, you don't need to do much for big power gains.

They would do the same thing on what they did on the MK1 GTR 480hp vs the Mk2 GTR 530hp and if you notice it's always a 50hp difference

More boost will get you loads more power off the bat. More efficient intercooler, downpipes, free flowing exhaust etc. will easily take it over 450hp. Lots of room to play with an FI engine...

Right, tunes increase boost and make fuel ratio and other adjustments due to the increased boost. My 335is is 335hp stock, but I have stage 1 cobb tune which puts it at 380hp. It's stupid easy to tune, plug tuner into the ODBII, flash and done. Nothing to even tear apart. FI (forced induction) has so much potential it's crazy. I have friends that have done some of the other things I stated and are putting out well over 450hp from a BMW n54 engine.

The Sexy Infiniti Q60 Will Pack A 400 HP Twin-Turbo V6: Report

Comments?

If they can pull this off for the same price as the current version or a slight bump this will be murderous! I love the idea for sure
