That's where I'm confused, so if there's a 300hp option for a Q60 and a 400hp option for the Q60, why go with the more expensive option, 400hp that will be tuned for increasing speeds such as 0-60, 1/4 mile and spirited driving. You would think the average Joe would go with the 300hp and save 15k and still have a pretty fast car. Say the 300hp is a 5 sec car and 400hp is a 4.6 car? Would you buy for that extra 4 tenths?
What I gathered from the posts rite before Ryan chimed in about the thigh extension is if you want a car as fast as a snail, buy the 4 cylinder @ 200+hp. If you're a bit risky and you want to step it up to the speed of a turtle, buy the v6tt @ 300hp, but if you actually want to get past a couple of green lights you should buy the v6tt @ 400hp. A bit discouraging but I know forum members usually represent the hardcore enthusiasts so it is expected.
The 400hp is going to have to be a game changer for me to give any consideration to a 60-65k "g35". That aside, it's good to hear someone make a case for the turtle.
Fat-*** would imply width, the Q70 is .8 inches wider than the Q60. Better not use that measure of fat on your wife/girlfriend/significant other
I like the Q70, they have updated the mirrors, headlights and a few other things. But its interior is just outdated the screens too small inside, especially the monochrome display, it just annoys me. As much as I love Jap cars, I wouldn't consider it if I was up for a 5 series/GS/E class etc etc
You do know the coupe weights more than the sedan right (at least when talking about G platform)?
yeah, its no lightweight, but its not as bad as a Q70.
my G37 coupe is only ~50lbs heavier than my Evo, but it feels like 300lbs. i don't know if its the brutal acceleration/torque of the Evo, or the fact that the G37 is more of a lowered-down sports car. not necessarily a bad thing - the G feels solid, and i tend to not drive it like a complete lunatic. G is definitely a better grand touring car.
That's the dilemma Infiniti has .... how to make a sporty car that doesn't feel like a tin box, but what it takes to make that car "solid" adds performance crippling weight. For me I prefer that solid GT car vs a pure sports car. While it's still TBD but it appears the new Q60 provides that nice balance.
That's probably why I love a Maserati GranTurismo over a GTR if I had an extra 135-140k to spend.

i seem to prefer the "look" of a GT car - had a Subaru SVX and 2 Porsche 928's.
a solid highway cruiser just isn't practical for me - i'm hardly ever on the highway. its all suburban/city driving where acceleration and handling is more important to dodge idiots who don't see the right lane is ending due to parked cars, or getting ahead of slow pokes before the road changes to one lane.
the G37 is a decent compromise, though. the new Q60 may be a little large for my taste - i'll really need to take one for a drive to see.
Just don't come in on a Saturday expecting us to just hand the keys over. 😂 just kidding.
Just for that I'm gonna find your dealership at like 5:59PM on Saturday, walk right up to the car and ask you for a walk-around then ask a bunch of question about discounts, compare the car to cars like Toyota Camry's and motorcycles. Then ask for a test drive and drive around for like an hour and a half, take it all the way to F and I then freak out over the interest rate, blame you for not telling me about the interest rate during the test drive, then say: "you know what, I think I like the Altima Coupe over this .. its the same car"
lol

I ain't gonna lie, I do that to the Ducati reps all the time.
Haha oh I will have the free coffee in my hand the whole time lol... Even on the test drive. Every few minutes or so I'll complain that it's "too freakin' hot, or "don't taste right" right in the middle of negotiations lol!
