Not on the coupe but I'm betting it's the same as the sedan. Let me see if I can find it.

Just built a Q60 on the Infiniti website...you have to get the entire driver assistance package in order to get the blind spot monitoring system? I don't mind paying for the package, but i hate the big enblem that comes with the driver assistance package...was hoping the blind spot monitoring and the front and rear sensors could be added separately.

Lol! I had just mentioned that a few pages back; don't get tech package or drivers assist package if you intend to debadge the front grill. You'll be taking out a radar and wasting lots of money.

I mean can you or can't you live without the extra tech? I am pretty sure that it would come as required for the red sport model. I am pretty sure someone said that both the tech package and drivers assist utilize that front badge in order to work.

It's a shame that Nissan Infiniti isn't giving a more individual approach to each option when adding them. Instead they are grouping them in these packages, if you want one but not another in the same group, too bad you have to get the whole freaking package.

Question Apple CarPlay

I am very interested in the Q60 RS. I had a 2003.5 G35 sedan back in the day.

I see the new Maxima has Apple Carplay but the new 2017 Q60 does not. In my opinion, Infiniti really dropped the ball by not including Carplay. It doesn't make sense for Infiniti not to have it when the resources are already within the manufacturer. It seems that Inifiniti got lazy and just carried over the existing technology from the Q50 sedan. They also should of used the new Q60 to introduce a more upscale interior. The interior is just ok but it doesn't match the new slick exterior.

Hopefully Carplay comes at some point in the future. I more upscale interior would be nice but I doubt that could happen.

Just out of curiosity, what more are you looking for in terms of an upscale interior? Not sure what else Infiniti could do to the interior and keep it within the price point.

The C class and new A4 are the same price point and both of those interiors are much more upscale IMO. The 3/4 series interior is probably comparable but the 3 series came out in 2012. The Q60 is coming out as a 2017 model so I would expect an interior looks brand new. Instead, the Q60 has an interior that's basically the same as the Q50 which I believe came out in 2014. So the brand new Q60 already has a three year old interior.

They already had a new and pretty amazing interior in the work. Yet somehow they decided to cram the Q50 inteior into the Coupe.

The lines / flow in the concept was clean and sleek. The diamond pattern stitching too. Funny how such a "tiny" detail makes a HUGE difference in the final outcome.

I couldn't agree more with your assessment. Two things that really stand out to me. The trim on the door panels look very cheap. The concept looked fine.

The cup holder cut outs look very cheap. The concept did not have these either. The concept looks fresh, upscale, modern, and high-end. The actual Q60 while not conceptually very different gives off a totally different vibe and feel. I have to admit that I have not seen it in person yet... but I think I would still have the same concerns. This car should of had an interior to match the exterior.

Since when did age translate to not upscale? Its the actual quality of materials and execution that makes an interior upscale. I don't think anyone would say 2 year old E class interior is not upscale. So the Q60 doesn't have a brand new interior but to say that its not upscale is a stretch. They didn't take the Q50 layout and replace it with hard plastics and vinyl. Can it be a bit better? Sure, but given the price point and what they have done I think it is upscale enough. And I saying this based on having actually sat in a new Q60 and also have test drove a new A4. Now a GTR with Nissan parts bin switch gear at $100K+ is something that you can argue is not upscale.

Gotta have cup holders though!

I like how the G37 has several. Including a slot on the door to store water bottles. Cause I hit the drive through I need room for my cups.

First, I can't believe I'm jumping into the "what they need frey" but .... How about an IPL type version with the concept interior, and around 465 hp!

They should just offer a Limited Edition, Concept Interior, hydraulic steering and rear active steering.

Revamped bumper, bumper grill.

Special order only with a deposit.

There you go Peter come to the dark side.

465hp + LSD + torque vectoring +Quilted seats, door panels, cooled seats!!!

and finally you will have a proper car you can call IPL and put a 65K price tag.

It was my turn to see the Q60 in person today. They had a black base model, no options.

I have to say, I was actually tempted to do a trade in and go home with the Q60.

No test drive, they only have one and will have more for test drives some time in September.

I spent about 20 minutes examining the car and here are my impressions.
-The car is much smaller in appearance, in person, than it comes off in photos
-The grill is indeed massive. It was chrome on the one I saw and would look much better in black. I like the front end overall much more in person. Looks very sophisticated and more integrated. My IPL has some nice lines but not as many as the Q. I didn't really take notice of the chrome much other than the window surrounds. Seems to fit, IMO.
-The wheel gap was actually livable. Yeah, the wheels could be pushed out a bit but I didn't think it was as bad as the IPL's offset stock.
-The "leatherette" interior looks ok, seems really durable but you can tell it's not leather. Honestly, I could live with it. Not sure how well it'd breathe and it's non-perforated. Might suck in hot San Antonio summers.
-The seats are downright comfy. I preferred the bolsters on the Q60 vs. the IPL's sport seats. I liked the IPL's leather finish better.
-The instrument cluster hood is too high. It makes the cluster look like its raising it's eyebrows. Once seen, can't be unseen, LOL.
-The seating position is more roomy than the G BUT the overall positioning of everything, personally, is better on the G than the Q.
-I didn't feel the interior design was overwhelmingly more modern or "better" than my G until I got back into my G and drove away.
-The back seats look ever so slightly larger.
-The trunk's definitely easier to use. The opening is larger and the floor is further down.
-The doors feel more solid and close with a nice thunk.
-Holy hell there's a lot of complicated hoses and wiring underneath the hood. Looks like a pretty intricate setup. I could see a lot of little things to break or go wrong under the hood. Definitely would not own a first year (down the road) out of warranty.

All in all, I was impressed. Will look great with proper wheels and a few minor aesthetic mods. Honestly, if they had something below the RS, say a 350hp version with sport brakes and firm suspension, I could live with just the base version. No leather, no nav, no tech. I'd really like heated seats though.

I'm interested to see if the AWD versions have a higher ride height. And will definitely need a good test ride with a "sport" model to feel out the suspension. I could see foregoing adjustable stock suspension for something like I have now, just a solid set of coilovers. But if the sport suspension is decent, and the ride height isn't too high on the AWD version, the lack of rear LSD may push me in that direction.

Doesn't look like there will be a stripper RS though. It'll automatically come with leather and a host of other options.

The sticker on the car at the dealership was $44K and change. I really think, for that sort of money, the car should have more hp than your average family sedan.

I thought I read somewhere that the Wheel Gap was not any worse on the AWD. That minimal wheel gap was a priority on this coupe. Obviously they can sell it Slammed from the factory as they legally have to maintain a certain height. I think it was in the training booklet.
