HAHAH I didn't catch that.
I test drove the Q50 and hated it. Dying to see if this will drive the same.

Yea, I mean a clear cut example for me is looking at a 2008 maxima vs a 2009 maxima, the 2009 looks more sculpted and chiseled and for me almost any angle of a 2008 max, it looks fat.

Which Q50 did you drive?

I drove the red sport. I'll sum it up short.
no more vq engines and sexy exhaust note. no longer a G. I'll take the steering of the G37 coupe any day. New engine is a beast though. If they do not make a Z variant kiss the tuning market good bye for the Q50/60

Yea you're right lack of those things does suck. I'm expecting the steering to be disappointing compared to my current q60. Does the wheel still feel heavy?

in sport mode it does but it's very weird to describe. Not as sharp as let say my hydraulic E92 M3 and not as heavy as the G37s coupe.

Dont bother test driving the car unless its a Red Sport.

I drove the Q50 base car and it was extremely whack.

I then drove the Sport packaged car and it was much more in the realm of what I was expecting.

Just DONT test drive base cars. They are not the true iteration of the car.

Pretty much. Everything else is just plain whack.

Give us a "Black Sport" and throw an LSD in it with quilted A/C seats and a REAL sport exhaust. It would be the REAL DEAL

Test drove

I got to take a loaded up (non Red) version of the new Q60 for a test drive on Saturday. I currently own an 14 Q60S AWD for comparison. I like the new interior and the clean lines of the new model look good in the flesh. Definitely not the same sound I'm used to, quieter for sure. As others have mentioned the new trans doesn't feel like much of a step forward (one of my biggest gripes with my Q60 is the delay in shifts) and the steering has an odd feel turning off center. You can tell the car is working at what it wants you to feel instead of just being that way all of the time (if that makes sense). I prefer the more progressive weighting of my current Q60. All in all it would be hard to move from my current car into this one however you can get the new model without the electronic steering. Maybe the 400 hp version will be better.

Actually all the 3.0s have electric steering standard. The Digital Steering is optional. I believe the 2.0ts have the Hydraulic steering.

Thanks for the clarification. The one I drove had the adjustable digital steering. I messed with the settings a little but never found a sweet spot. Others may have different opinions. The exterior and interior did make it feel like a more updated and interesting car.

Vehicle-speed-sensitive Hydraulic Electronic Power Steering for 2.0t

Fast Ratio Electronic Power Steering for standard 3.0t

Direct Adaptive Steering as optional for 3.0t, this is the digital "steer by wire" system.
