G37 Trunk does not open - beeps 4x

2008 G37s - trunk will not open. Switch near steering wheel gives no result.

Key fob trunk button gives no result, but pressing the button on the trunk when outside the car makes the car beep 4x.

Only way to open trunk now is use mechanical release lever by going through back seat.

Any ideas?

Open glove box, there is a small rocker switch / upper right side. That is a valet over-ride.

This happened to me 2 weeks ago.
Open the trunk, take a look on your left side, you will see a rubber hose.
Pull the hose down, you will see approximately 10 wires.
You will see that the wires are thin, check to see if some of them are cut.
This was the reason why my trunk wouldn't open but would still beep 4 times.
Hope that helps

The valet switch has been checked, it is in correct position.

I opened up that rubber hose, everything is heavily taped up in electrical tape so not possible to see easily. I don't think it is a power issue because I pulled out the connectors to the relay/truck latch and measure 12V power.

Interesting thing though is that there is no signal across that connector. When I put the meter on Green and Black wire the resistance is infinite.

Any other ideas? I'm thinking of switching out the relay.

had the same problem, as said above it was a broken wire within the rubber boot of wires on the left, it will tend to break where the hose bends all the time, fixed broken wire and all is good

I fixed mine and it’s an easy fix don’t need go to somewhere else to get it fix. I had to cut the rubber boot for the trunk to go and check the wires. When I got it opened there was two wires that were cut, so I had to put them together n use a heat shrinked tube and yeah it’s pretty easy after that it work. Hope this help

you think 100% it’s a cut wire or do you think it might be a fuse?
