It is true though with aftermarket wheels the car can get a mind of its own. Even with perfect alignment. It all depends on the conditions of the roads. If the roads have grooves where the tires usually go then the car can have the urge to stay in those ruts. This will cause the car to want to move side to side by its own accord.

Depending on how wide the new wheels are and how low of a profile the rubber is it could just be tires

True I understand the concept fairly well
But there is no way a car can behave so aggressively because of tires
Sure smooth leaning or something makes sense with a wider tire
But aggressive movement the inability to achieve high speeds on a smooth road
With out swuving left and right unexpectedly is not normal by any means
I'd say it's the alignment that's off

So many member have done the same setup
I have same size rims and tires

And I knew my alignment was slightly off before the wide tire upgrade
Since Montreal canada is pothole central

Lets not forget the weather conditions. On a windy day here in S. Fla out on the highway doing 70-80 mph I can feel the wind blowing me all over the place. It happens frequently down here to me.

OP: what was the stock tire size compared to your new Falkens. I'm running Falken Azenis tires as well. They are nice tires...... Until it gets a little damp out. Then it's slip-n-slide city. Pirelli P-0s are the next set for me.

Dealer Quote

Dealer says $138.00 for wheel alignment ?

you think it's a good deal or should i go to high performance alignment/ camber specialist shop.

The reason i'm slightly against the dealer is because for some reason i don't think they really know much about alignments ..... More like a gut feeling also not to mention i am running a custom wheel setup so they could always just say sorry sir too bad its because your tires and rims.

So tomorrow i'll be taking it either dealer or shop just a tough decision

Custom Wheel Setup
Vossen OFFSET +32 CV1's 9" on Front Falken FK453 245/ZR35/20
Vossen OFFSET +42 CV1's 10.5" on Front Falken FK453 285/ZR30/20

Does anyone here disagree with my setup ? for my G37X Coupe 09 ?

Don't think its an alignment issue.

1) You're going up greatly in size - everything gets amplified when you do
2) You're going from winters to summers - winters are very soft compared to summers and they will absorb some of that dartiness.
3) If it were your alignment then why only when turning the wheels? Its been my experience that when your alignment is out of wack everything else feels off.

Tires.

It all started when you replaced the tires.

Tires.

Go back to a non staggered, equal size set up you have an X.

Your joking Right !!!

Sorry but that doesn't make any sense,

First off the car is behaving weird in all aspect not just when im turning it seems as if the wheels are working against each other.

Secondly Majority of the G37x Coupe have a staggered setup with the exact tire specs and there driving seems to be fine .

I think you should only comment when you know something about the subject
not just say oh you installed tires BINGO THAT'S GOTTA BE IT ....

All the math points too alignment needs to be done, which it will be done by a professional alignment race shop tomorrow.

All the mature members clearly explained why its alignment. After spending $3500 i wont be going to a non-staggered setup .

Thank You moderators for quickly explaining everything and justifying your conclusion unlike some individuals.

Again sorry if i'm being rude, but how would you like it if even after months of research and repeated asking on this forum in terms of whats tire :
https://www.myg37.com/forums/wheels-...g37x-20-a.html

Randomly someone would say ... oh go back to a non staggered setup ....COME ON !

Assuming alignment is correct, tire conicity can cause the car to pull. This is a condition where one sidewall is taller than the other on the same tire. Tire is no longer a cylinder but a cone. This can cause all sorts of strange handling issues.

Agreed and that is a well justified explanation in which the tire manufacturer will cover the supposed tire under warranty.

Let's just take a deep breath and relax. You've stated on several posts that your alignment is off. Get the alignment proper and that should clear up a lot of questions.
TVPostSound knows a lot about suspensions and the various component geometry of our cars so I would respect his opinion. There's many AWDs running staggered setups without issue but each car has it's own set of variables and variances which can cause issues.
Hoping tomorrow is a good day for you and your car OP

Lol Ahahahaha

For all future people who'd like to get a staggered g37x
YES YOU CAN DO IT
FRONT 245/35/20
REAR. 285/30/20

My alignment was off it's corrected and they did 4 laps around highway and then
Rechecked my alignment everything is perfect now

I showed the shop this forum, and they said the tire heights have to match mine is off by 0.1% not even a percentage value they said they've done many
Staggered AWD vehicles

Thank you everyone !!!
Blnwet you were right all along
