Journey Premium vs Sports: Firm?

From 1 to 5 (5 being the hardest)

How firm is the sports over the Journey?

In short would I notice the difference in a 8hr car ride on state highways and city streets?

Why not drive one if you're curious? Tough to rate it's stiffness but you would notice a difference immediately let alone an 8hr ride between the two.

I have not been able to find anyone that has a 2012 G37 and G37S on the lot at the same time

Could try a infinti dealer and test drive two new ones.

That's a whole different issue

Then I'd have to deal with the high pitch sales issues

It really is ok if you don't know.
I've already thought of the ins and outs

I was really just looking for someone that wonder the same thing and knows for sure one way or another

I have not driven the Journey but the Sport is fine for me on the highway for a long trip. The sport seats are better because they have more adjustments compared to the journey plus on open highway you most likely will not notice a difference on smooth highway roads.

Go to carmax, they won't pressure you at all.

I love my G37s- the suspension is pretty forgiving when you need it to be but still very nicely tuned. It is balanced.

The OEM sport suspension and sport-seats are very noticeably more stiff than the non-sport. However, in no way would I call it an uncomfortable ride. Compared to other sporty cars, the suspension is more "rounded" on the bumps than "sharp", which is exactly how a sport sedan with aspirations of being a luxury car should be, IMO.

Everything is relative. If you've ever been in a M3, or a Subaru STI, then you'll think your G's sport suspension is quite comfortable. Then again, compared to both of those, you might also think your G is gutless. Like I said, everything is relative.

As for your reluctance to go to the dealership... meh. Grow a pair and drive them. That's what dealerships are there for, to market and sell cars. Come on man, you can do it. Get the right attitude, and test driving new cars can be a whole lot of fun.

If you are any where near Long Island you are welcome to come and test drive all the cars you want with me and I swear I won't make you buy one.

I have the Sport and I agree with others on this form, the car is stiffer, but the seats are very comfortable because of all of the adjustments. I have 3 cars and when it comes to a long trip, the S is defintely the car of choice.

Thanks,
That really says a lot

Sounds like I'm making the right choice

Mostly.

Here's some other advice: if you find the sport seats uncomfortable and stiff right off, give it time. The seats won't change, but your perspective on them will.

Now thinking about it
I think the seats will be just fine.
