To me the difference was very noticeable. G37x sedan vs g37S sedan. We barely got a few blocks from the dealer before turning around in the X. It seemed way too soft for my liking.
Both cars require aftermarket sways to better control body roll and understeer. The S is firmer, but as stated, not necessarily harsh. Suspension is actually well controlled for a stock system.
Something else to consider, if you drive in areas with beat up roads, the X/journey will probably be preferred. In chicago, extra effort is needed to avoid the potholes. I'm all over the road of of the time. In a relatives grand prix that isn't as much the case as the car is much softer riding.
All these descriptions aside, you need to find one to drive, even if used. It's hard to verbalize a physical feeling.

I have a G37xS and drove it straight from New York to Chicago which was about a 15hr drive. You certianly feel the road but the sports seats were really supportive and comfrotable.
