I have recently bought a 2010 g37x coupe and before I bought it I test drove it on two separate occasions. Now the problem is that when I test drove it, I was able to adjust the steering column up, down and in, out. Now after I bought it and took it home it wont go down when I try to adjust it. All other directions work except to lower the steering column.

When driving the wheel feels fine and no other problems with it. I do have a slip light, vdc light and brake light that appears but what I have read it is most likely the tires or a sensor since the brake fluid is above the min mark.

Any suggestions on what it could be for either of the two problems listed??

 

Loose connection maybe? Was the vehicle in an accident that set off the airbag?

 

Pull the battery and try again? It will reset your things though... Just a suggestion.

 

yea it was in an accident but the air bags did not deploy thankfully. where would the switch be if the battery solution doesn't work?

opps sorry I mean, where would there be a loose connection that G37SAM was referring to?

 

If you remove your steering wheel you'll access the wiring harness that connects to the **** that moves the steering. Just a suggestion if all 3 directions work and one doesn't.

Not really, better take it to a shop to have it looked it.

would there be any other reason this could happen?

 

The actual control could be going bad, or it just might have some corrosion on the up/down contacts.

I've never pulled one so I don't know how hard it is; maybe check into a repair manual..?

 

thanks for the input, im still waiting for the title to come in so I can get some plates on the car to take it to get it checked... Any recalls for the 2010 g37 that I should be aware of??
