Thanks for the info. I'll keep my phone on when getting towed.

Just read through this, my Zele front bumper was F'd up by a tow company recently and they / their dispatcher denied it. Needless to say I am upset.

my 2011 g37 IPL coupe had to be recently towed and I feared this exact same thing happening to my front bumper. i took preventative measures and installed the tow hook myself before they got there. the driver actually thanked me for doing so. he was very careful when loading it and made sure it wouldn't need a wood block to clear it (which we didn't). so as stated some drivers are more respectful and know their jobs better then others. but to save the possibility of damage to your car, while your waiting on the tow truck to get there, open your owners manual, it tells you how to remove the tow hook cover on the front bumper with illustrations, and just screw in the tow hook yourself. the manual mentioned wrapping the winch hook with a rag as an extra safety measure. so i took an old dish towel and put it in the trunk with the tow hook incase i need a tow again in the future.

I think this deserves to be stickied as well! Thanks for the heads-up. Hopefully I won't need to get towed anytime soon, but just in case it happens...

Very good advise. I never thought about pulling out my phone and recording the whole process "just in case" something does happen. But I am surprised you had such a hard time with this tow company. Maybe it was a smaller company that doesn't like to pay out. Did you check their ratings on google / yelp / etc. before calling?

That's good you were thinking ahead. Most people can't think out of the box or even for themselves. Especially when to realize to put the tow hook before the tow truck comes. Most people assume everyone knows what their doing as their just "doing their jobs". Reality is most people don't know what the hell their doing...
