MANY random problems
MANY random problems
Long time member here with some random "gremlins" with my car, that I'm looking for assistance with. I wasn't sure where exactly to post this, so I appologize in advance if I'm in the wrong area, and YES, I've used SEARCH many times.
I've got a FULLY (4WAS/Tech/Spoiler)loaded 08 G37S. For the last 2 years, I've had a multitude of random electrical problems with the car- They are as follows:
- Driver's window randomly going into door and losing timing, or just not working at all period (usually during rain or snow, unfortunatley)(Motors, regulators, BCM's replaced several times)
-"Trunk Ajar" warning appearing randomly on the display screen (above odometer) even though trunk is not open. This "warning" goes on/off quickly and beeps/flashes every time and is very annoying. (I have a youtube video of it doing it on 3 seperate occasions) (Sensors/latches/struts replaced many times)
-Intelligent Key losing memory, so it won't work with car, yet other key still works. (Dealer has replaced both keys and still having problems, they actually have a 3rd copy of my iKey in a tech's tool box to use for testing purposes- I better not **** off that tech- he knows where I live)
-Battery completely dead at times- jump box car and it fires up- take to dealership, test battery, nothing wrong. Current battery is the "bigger battery" that goes in the M (per the TSB that my car had) and is less than 6 months old. YES, I am turning the car off completely when I leave it, no
"beeps" from leaving it in acc/on position when leaving car- 100% shut off.
The dealer has basically told me that they have no idea what to do with it anymore and are pushing me to buy a new car, which is great, but my car has options that cannot be had in a new coupe, so I'm not interested- I'd rather wait for the next "G" coupe and jump on that.
They have gotten tech line and engineers involved, but never tell me anything, and just send me home with my car that doesn't work right.
I ventured a call to Infiniti Consumer Affairs 2 weeks ago and was told that I would have a "resolution" by last Friday or this past Monday. Funny, I called them today to see what's up and they haven't even contacted the dealerships involved to hear what they have done or say about the car. I also didn't tell them what sort of "resolution" I was looking for, because A- I don't know what I want, and B- I want to see what Infiniti is going to do and go from there.
At one point in time, I was told that Infiniti/Nissan had a problem with some parts that were "misboxed", so the suspect parts were replaced, but nobody is 100% sure if the "wrong" parts are still in the car or not.
The car is in IMMACULATE condition and only has 52K on it, yes, I drive it all winter long as well- snow tires are great. A buddy of mine has an 08 with 101K on it and has never had a problem. If mine was in bad condition, I wouldn't have a problem dumping it, but it looks like it is brand new, so I don't know what to do.
ANY suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I know that I described 4 completely different problems that may or may not be be inter-related to each other.
Thanks again for ANY help, and I once again appologize if I am in the wrong forum with this.

I would suggest that you either
A - deal with the issues like you have been as they occur (but warranty will be ending soon & its gonna get expensive)
B - consult an attorney that specializes in Lemon Law & get educated on your legal option (if any)
C - sell now while the car still holds some value
Good luck!

That may be my only option. Dump it and pick up a low mile used one that I can sell in a year when the new coupe comes out, although, I could then be purchasing someone elses problems.
JUST put new tires on it and new brakes on it, so that is another reason to want to keep it.

Bumping an old thread with an update-
I've been "working" with Nissan/Infiniti for awhile now and they have got MOST of the issues taken care of with the car (most all of the wrong parts installed have been replaced with the correct parts), but there are still some issues yet- I'm riding it out for a little while to see what happens. I'm not super excited about buying a new car right now for two reasons- I would be buying the same thing I have right now, but with less options (some of what my car has is not offered in the G coupe anymore, and I'm planning on purchasing a new house within the next year. After I get the house, I can get the new G coupe (IF it does NOT contain a MB engine).
Out of the deal, I did get a VPP Plan A deal to use on my next Nissan/Infiniti.

How many days has your car been out of service, meaning sitting in the service dept waiting for repairs, parts, etc? I had a ton of issues with my 08 and consumer affairs wound up buying it back without having to go to a lemon law lawyer. Pm me if you need help
Looks like you got an unfortunate lemon. I would find a way to get rid of the car into your benefit, and then just get the same but newer. Trust me, the new coupes are better than the '08. Seems like to best option is to resolve it as a lemon law.

I don't think I'll be as patient as you if my car was at the shop for that amount of time. Looks like you do have a lemon in your hands. I hope everything works out for you.

I'm going to call my contact at consumer affairs, the one that gave me the VPP. I'm going to let her know that the car still has x problems and i'm sick of it- what can be done? I will be asking point blank about a buy back- we'll see what happens.
If I got my money back on the car, I'd practically have a new one paid in full right off the get go. I could handle that.

Dont even mess with it anymore. It sounds like a POS now for whatever reasons (most likely electricals bugs that will never be fixed). Either demand they buy it back and if they dont or even hesitate tell them you are now going to involve an attorney.
