Just like every government agency, they will spend $10 to collect $1 from you.

Can't imagine why states go bankrupt.

What a waste of tax dollars! If they are bent on fixing the old clunkers they should be doing that from the inital check before registration. What a fck up! Hey lets create more traffic while we're at it!

The way I see it, if a good number of you guys now want to move out of state, it would mean:

• Fewer crowded roads
• Less unemployment as the jobs you left would now be open
• Cleaner air for those of us who remain
• Shorter lines at In-N-Out burger stands

So.....

In terms of the law, I dunno I'm two sided on this one...
I mean carb legal is carb legal... they can't touch you if you're compliant... just have to roll with your certs.

in terms of enforcement... this can't be any more retarded... you know how much money that's going to cost to catch like 2% of the state that drives modded cars... <0.25% of which drive cars that aren't carb legal?

can we fire our congressmen/women yet? We pay A LOT in taxes and I'm tired of them spending my money.... I mean seriously how about getting all these cars made before 1992 off the road first... force them to buy clean diesel/hybirds or e85 flexfuel vehicles. ... cash for clunkers bull crap... I'm still angry about that one.

It is up to the officer's discretion if they want to have you see a ref or not, as the officer is technically not qualified to make that decision. If you're respectful to the officer and explain things, then usually they will let you go. Make sure your parts all have the CARB numbers on them and/or the appropriate stickers are under your hood.
