Ran Off and Into a Curb

I already posted this in the tech area but I just wanted to share my story with my coupe folks. In addition to getting faster responses.

The Issue: Bent Inner Tie Rod on front driver side

The Question: How hard would it be to replace this myself? (special tools needed? or just a basic tool set)

The Story: Some beeotch merged blindly into my lane last night and ran me off the road (to avoid collision). It was raining so that didn't make **** any better. I hit the curb at about 20-30mph. I got an estimate at Firestone because this damn college town doesn't have an Infiniti dealership. They said about $448~ for part, install, and alignment. Is this right? I looked at infinitpartsusa.com and the part is only $66. I'm not a cheap *** so I will pay this if it sounds about right. I am also no fool to be ripped off either so I will do what I can on my part and save some money and just get an alignment done afterwards.

I'll take a picture of the screwed up alignment and post it later. I thought it was going to be a lot worst than it seemed.

It is pretty easy to change it out yourself and no special tools are required.

Haha I wonder why they would even bother having bots on forums. Has anyone ever done this themselves that could give some info on replacing it?
