Hi Randy. There are plenty of threads here on the issues with the G coupe, but nothing to be alarmed about. As a basic list, here is what owners have to say about problems with the G.

Battery dying prematurely
"Creeking" sound from the roof / A pillar due to a yet to be confirmed source (body flex?)
Exhaust rattle (if this is a problem any dealership will replace your exhaust for free)

I'm sure others may chime in but I think these are the big 3. Either way, the car is fantastic. Be careful how you interpret what you read in the forum. Since we all are owners we are very critical of the issue we experience and because of it the issue gets magnified. I would say that this car has no more problems (maybe less) than any other car out there, so don't let that be the determining factor for the purchase.

Good luck!

Coupe Daddy's post is dead on. The only thing I'd add is that the paint finish is horribly soft and very suceprible to scratches and swirling even under the best care and conditions.

That being said, it's a wonderful car and don't let us demanding, bellyaching owners sway you from getting a great ride.

You could always buy a used 09 to get the healing paint!

Thanks for info..Was just wondering about kracking sound from windsheild. I read about someone with same problem and located it coming from plastic molding around " outside" of windsheild. Solved problem buy spraying silicone based lubricant under the molding, all around windsheild . Just a thought,..maybe could help ???

I got one in with 50k miles and I must say, it still drives solid. You can always purchase an Infiniti extended warranty that will cover you up to 100k miles. There is no major recals or issues in regards that won't be under warranty

yw. I was thinking of something similar, but using tape around the inside edge of of the moonroof opening. I had a similar (but less severe) sound from the roof section of my old Acura and the dealer fix was an adhesive around the moonroof opening. However, I think what is going on with the G is different based on what I've read.

My battery seems to be on its last legs as well. Its not even 2 years old yet. I have the windshield creak in the bottom passenger side too. My exhaust was replaced under TSB as were my rotors up front. THe nav system required a software update under TSB as well. Engine-wise the car has been dead reliable so far (34k miles) but the clutch is fairly weak. I have done precisely two drop-clutch launches in the car sine I bought it new in Jan 08 and both resulted in the clutch slipping all the way to redline with no acceleration and a horrible burned-clutch smell. The car still drives normally now but I'm afraid to really drive it hard anymore considering a new clutch could run as much as $2k. Just my experience so far. Its a great car!

Nothing serious...
Of course my battery won't quit randomly dying.
