Question About Tinting

I'm thinking about getting tinting done on my G. The last car I had done when I picked it up they said to leave the windows up for 3 days and don't move them. Makes sense until the edges harden. How can you really do that on the G with the slight drop/raise they do when you open the doors? Has this been a problem for anyone with the edges peeling at the top of the window?

I had Llumar Axcess tint installed back in the summer and had no problems with this. In fact, I didn't get a chance to keep the car in the sun much, either (since car is garaged at work and home).

Given my experience, I'd say you shouldn't have any big issues with that slight movement.

neh it should be fine. They realize that the tips of the windows move, so they take a heat gun to just the edges to get them to adhere more quickly than the rest of the window.

I wouldn't test it by trying to peel it off or excessively opening/closing the door though.

cool .... second question. I assume people use the same degree of tint all around as to not have that two-tone look

I got dark as legal which is 35% in the driver and passenger window and 20% on rear windows. Does not look bad.

Also the tint will be fine with the drop/raise feature. You really just want to avoid rolling it all the way down below the seal because that will pull up the edges when you roll it back up.

I got Formula One Pinnacle ceramic tint and have had no such peeling issues. If anything, a shoddy installer may cause this to happen.

I'm in MD .... law is 35% all around. I'll just do that. Got a ticket with my Sterling once and that was a pain, plus the wife doesn't like it that dark when driving and she uses the car the most,
