Dealership cars washes are useless

Like the title says it rainned here this morning and my car got dirty so I decided to get a car wash at the dealership since it was free and all they seemed to do is splash some water on it. When it came out it was even more dirty because the water had dryed up and left water marks. So now I just done wiping it down with a cotton cloth. Why do dealer always care about making money. I think it should be customers first then money because if you make the customer happy then they will come back which bring in revenue.

You should really read up on how to properly care for your new car's finish. Here's a good place to start. Read the How To's.

Then check out this entire thread at your leisure.

It's a world of good information on how badly you can screw up your car without knowing it by doing it wrong.

yup definitely stay away from dealer washes. they drip dirty water everywhere and leave streaks on the paint and glass.

Agreed. The dealer "washed and detailed" Her car the day before she picked it up. I should have known better and told them not to touch it. I'll get to see the car for the first time tonight. I'm not looking forward to seeing the swirls.

they aren't useless... they do more bad than good to your car... in fact they put swirls in it if you let them wash it

You have to take into account the lowest paid person at the dealership is probably doing the car washing. There's a pretty good chance he's not trained in washing or detailing in any way.

don't judge each dealership as a whole. Infiniti of Massapequa uses a nice system that uses filtrated water aka like the Mr Clean Spot free rinse. We have the car washer wash it by hand w/ a shammy and he knows how important it is to take care of the cars.

Some dealers have the luxury of just sending it through a machined car wash.

I like how ppl complain about this about that. They complain about dealers only worry about making money but dont realize that the dealer has so freekin many expenses to keep the place running and the funny thing is usually ppl that complain the most are the ones that buy their cars at or near invoice and always blabbing how much service the dealer should provide when they only go in to service their car when the service is free. I dont work for the dealer but You got to realize how much the dealer is paying the lot boy to wash your car, the water, soap, cloth to dry your car the utility bills, insurance if god forbid the kid gets hurt washing your car. Yeah, some dealers make money off of the car they sell and service, But Im pretty sure thats not the case with most of us in this forum including myself. You know it, I know it, most of us would probably never bring our cars back to the dealer unless we had a free oil change or its covered under warranty. The most if any of us is pay $50-100 for a oil change. Just my 2cents

I think you said it well. My friend is a manager at Jiffy Lube and they have been very busy now w/ those cheap oil changes.... but cheap comes more headaches w/ people complaining that the "techs" there broke or lost stuff. It's a never ending battle with any business.

I can vouch for Da mayor.I was first hesitant about getting my car washed there. But after results were not bad at all. No swirls on my paint. All dealerships are different. Just make sure you go to a dealership that uses proper products.

I vouch for Da mayor as well. When i picked up my G it was spotless. I recognized it sitting in the driveway at the dealership all the way across from the Massapequa train station.

I would more likely be bringing my car all the way to long island to get it washed than to bring it to any car wash place over here in the bronx.
