Airbag Recall in G37 and EX
Just took my G in for oil change today and she told me that a new recall was announced yesterday for the passenger airbag occupant classification system. I think some of you have mentioned similar issues where the airbag light for the passenger seat isn't coming on. I'm not sure if this is the same thing or not - she didn't have many details, but you might try looking up some more info about it if you have the resources. I couldn't find very much.
Title: Passenger Airbag Occupant Classification System Campaign
Campaign ID: P8243
TSB: 08045c (this might be wrong)
Anyone have this or know more about it?

It's a new recall that just came out and has to do with the passenger seat occupant sensor.(Seat cushion). If it fails the test you get a new seat if not then bye bye no repairs will be made. Something like out of 140,000 cars anly 10% are effected. I will try and post the actual recall if I get some extra time I just have to go and get it off of assist and download and ya you know the deal.

If the Air Bag light has been on sice you got the car why didn't you take it in and get it check right awat ??? If the air bag light is on due to this issue and if fails the test then yes they will replace the seat bottom only but you have to take the car to the dealer to get it checked !!!!
I just posted the TSB in the TSB thread so go check it !!!

A few weeks back I was driving home on the freeway with 30 lb. statue on the passenger seat, without the passenger seatbelt fastened. It was just resting there. When I first placed it on the seat and started the car, the indicator light for the passenger airbag being off (near the A/C controls) came on. Seemed obvious, the car thought a child was in the passenger seat and disabled the airbag -- OK.
Upon exiting the freeway, I noticed that when I used my brakes the "No Seatbelt" red light would light up in the gauge cluster. I thought, WTF. My seatbelt was firmly fastened. I undid and redid it just incase (never do this while driving). It was only until I moved the statue off the seat that it would stop. Definitely a problem, and it seems it might be related to this recall.

I never got a notice about mine, but I saw it on here and did it. I got it "fixed" a while ago, but it still seems kinda strange. Sometimes the light will be on when there is someone in the seat, sometimes it wont.... sometimes it will be on when there is nobody in the seat, other times it won't...
