Obviously, they messed up on the alignment and probably shouldn't have touched it. If you run to a lawyer there is only one person who will make out on this deal.
I don't think your world is crashing down around you just yet. You still made the right decision on which model car to buy
Best of luck to you and a quick resolution.
I am sorry but I think he was anally raped with what he paid. I dont think people are trying to give him a hard time but maybe alerting him that he should do a little more due dilligence on the price of a car and see what other people are paying. You have these factors to consider:

1. You paid almost the same price as most people did for a fully loaded BRAND new car.
2. Unless they extended the warranty, you have lost close to a year in warranty and only get a 36,000 mil warranty on a car with problems.
3. The economy is not good/93 Octane gas is outrageous and4 luxury car sales are down
4. Infiniti Dealers (as well as most others) are giving extremly low interest rates/money factors on purcchaes leases due to the above factors as well as the fact it is getting close to when the 2009 models come out.

I am simply pointing this stuff out and hope you learn from the experience.

I really do hope you get your car fixed and have no further issues but if I were in your shoes, I would push Infiniti hard to put you in a brand new vehicle. I myself have been waiting 2.5 weeks for the exact color/options that I wanted but my Infiniti dealer gave me a brand new loaner for the whole time.

Good luck!

Well, it turned out to be some kind of actuator. I still dont fully understand how the 4 wheel active steer works so if anyone knows i would love to be educated.

but they replaced the actuator and all the problems seem to have gone away. car has been great. I have received both customer service satisfaction calls from the dealership as well as from infiniti north america. i explained exactly what happened, and how i will never return to the dealership for service again.

the entire thing was a fiasco to say the least, but at least the car is fixed. maybe i did pay too much for the car, but there really was no way i could see of getting a dealership to drop 5 or 6 grand of MSRP.

it is what it is. at least i have exactly the car i wanted.

I am glad it worked out. Just keep in mind dealers do drop 5 grand or more depending on sales though in the fuure!

Not to beat a dead horse here but dude you way overpayed. 40200 fully (every other option possible, ill kick plates, extra mats, trunk mat, free oil changes etc) loaded except 4WAS (which I did not want). It adds weight and complexity which increases the possibility that something else could go wrong. And I took delivery in Feburary 08

I think it is very obvious that a brand new 08 fully loaded G37s can be had for 40k now... He knows he overpayed big time... Lets stop the Overpaying bashing... Please... enough is enough... he got the point...

good luck on the car and sorry to read about what happened. I've seen the RAS go on a few cars that people hit huge potholes on. the 4/60k warranty definitely helps out
