Another "Roof in Operation" Thread

I have a 2011 convertible and I've had this problem for more than 2 years. I haven't driven the car much in that time as I don't want to drive a couple, I want to drive a convertible. I changed the top position sensor, (a small sensor with a little arm attached), and it made no difference. I did the relearn procedure after replacing the sensor and it made no difference.

I am able to open the roof manually, so I have access to the the system.

I took the car to 2 different Infiniti dealers and one said the hydraulic pump was bypassing, (it's impossible for a pump to bypass as they do not work that way. It's the cylinders that can bypass but it wouldn't cause this issue.).
The second dealer said it was in the wiring and they would have to remove the roof to check the wiring and they won't do it as they don't have the time. (Idiots).

I took it to another mechanic and he said that there are a pair of sensors that have to be replaced, but he doesn't know which ones.

Has anyone actually solved this issue? Unpaid $12,000 for the car and was able to drive it the first summer I got it and it's been sitting since. I'd hate to seell it with the roof not working and lose $7,000, I'd rather drive the care as I love it.

Any help would be great.

Ian
