Question Problem with 2012 G37 vert seat hot/cold control

Hi. I doubt this problem is unique to the vert but that's what I have. Specifically a 2012 G37.

The car has left and right seat ventilation heating and cooling ***** with an amber LED that indicates that the car is delivering either hot or cold ait to the ventilated front seats. 3 settings for hot and cold plus center (off). Recently the passenger seat stopped delivering any air to the seat. Instead when hot or cold air is desired the LED flashes about 3 seconds on and 2 seconds off.

I can't find any reference to this problem anywhere, nor can I find info on the hot/cold ventilated seat air system in the service manual.

Have any of you had this problem and what was the cause or fix for it?

Thanks,

Marc Howard

It would seem that the flashing LED is representing a trouble code of some sort, however, neither the factory manual nor any online searches that I checked offered any detail. That said,

These climate controlled seats (those that heat AND cool) have a moderate history of wiring connectors melting at the control module under the seat. You may want to read over this thread as it details the issue and has photos on what to look for. If, by chance, everything looks normal then you can delve into the abyss of troubleshooting.

Problem with 2012 G37 vert seat hot/dolc control

Thanks for the info. The thread pointer is especially interesting.

I suspect that I have a seized up motor and/or power connector. Unfortunately the service manual links on nicoclub are down.

I'm going to post over on that thread and see if anyone has successfully replaced the blower motor.

Thanks again,

Marc

Attached to this post is the pdf file for the 'Vert seat.

I haven't looked but I would imagine it would be easier to remove the seat from the car to work on it. After looking at the FSM it appears that once you remove the back cover, there are just three or four (4) and the unit comes right out. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

p/n: 87334-JJ02A. Used units on eBay are around $50:

New, if you can find them, will be at least $500 or so.

Good luck and keep us updated, plz.

Edited to add: perhaps you hit a bad link but I just checked and the FSM's over at Nicoclub are online. FSM.
